Cci mini mags

It's CCI's HV 22 ammo. It comes in different bullet designs. Basically any 22 designed to handle HV ammo can use these.

Be careful, many of you older designed guns were designed to shoot standard velocity only. If you're considering a specific example, ask and we can tell you.

My lcr22 gives me trouble ejecting them, as they seem to expand quite a bit. But they do seem reliable.

Just about any gun chambered for high speed or high velocity 22LR will shoot the regular CCI mini-mags safely. The change happened around 1930-1932 in terms of HV 22LR.

Generally the hyper velocity 22LR ammunition is not recommended to be used in semi-auto handguns; just fine with revolvers.

The only bad thing about CCI mini-mag ammunition is that the price has gone up more than I'm happy with and they're hard to find at the moment. Even so I think it's still worth it, as it has always been the most reliable ammo for my .22s, very accurate and has a very very low misfire rate. I think the rims and priming is some of the most consistent out there save for some of the real expensive target stuff like Eley 10x.

I regularly use mini-mags in my Ruger 10/22s and my Mark III Hunter. They are accurate and reliable. They used to be easy to find, now I'm down to my last couple of bricks. I also use them in my 1947 Remington 511 without issue, and the rifle shoots them quite accurately as well. While I find the CCI Standard Velocity to be slightly more accurate in the rifles, the mini-mags perform better in the pistol. YMMV.

Here is a range of CCI 22LR products that I've found over the past few months. It seems as though retail buyers are taking whatever the distributors are offering. I'm curious how much difference there'll be between Standard Velocity and Sub-Sonic. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373346726.543762.jpg

CCI minimags,greentag and standard vel.

I have shot over 8,000 standard velocity RWS,Eley,Fiocchi,Winchester, and CCI .22's in 40 years of competitive shooting with a 1966 High Standard military grip Trophy using 6 different OEM magazines, and have replaced exactly 2 parts(recoil springs) in all that shooting,I was always advised not to use any HV ammo in High Standards, but for plinking with an early Buckmark I use minimags exclusively, over 4,000 so far.

I've used them in a marlin 60, Remington nylon 66, S&W617 and Ruger single six. Always been a favorite of mine but usually way too expensive to shoot, so always went with the cheapo stuff.:D

I have Mini Mags and just bought a DPMS 22LR upper. Unfortunately, it has regular problems with FTF (in every brand I tried in it, including MMs).

I spoke with two different guys there, who told me their 22LR upper wasn't designed for Mini Mags and won't shoot them reliably. One said they were "designed differently" and the other said they were just "different". They also said it won't shoot hollow points reliably. Sheesh! (It's going back, of course.)

Our 10/22, Marlin Golden 22, Ruger 22/45 and others shoot the MMs just fine. And pretty much everything else.

Mini-mags would be the only .22LR I'd buy if price were not a factor. I'd then sight in every .22 I own to use them.

My Walmart surprised me by having a good supply of MiniMag 100rd packs of HP, for $7.21 a box. I limited out with three boxes...
First rimfire I have seen there in months.
