I'd like to try out some Quiet Semi-Auto in my stock 10/22. I'm specifically talking about the 45 grain load going 835 FPS. Anybody have any issues with cycling? Does the stuff group worth anything?
My bolt guns wernt overly fond of the stuff, but my 597 interestingly enough was. Best groups ran 1-1.25" at 50yds with more vertical than horizontal dispersion. I never found anything that actually shot smaller in that gun.In both my "Hawthorn Warrior" (Mossberg Bolt Action) and Little Badger that stuff is crazy-amazing accurate. Also in my old single shot bolt action "Boy's Rifles". Real accurate in my revolvers. Probably not the best ammo for the 10/22 for obvious reasons.
Beyond "match grade" in my Mossberg bolt gun. I can hang some 550 cord from a tree branch, get back, and make that cord jump and wiggle all day. Out of it's 24" barrel, it makes about the same noise as a good .22 air rifle.
Maybe set the 10/22's aside and use a good bolt or single shot. The ammo it's self is "match grade". If it don't shoot well, it's not the ammo.
It's the floating chamber, of course.Everything cycles in my Remington 550-1. Including CB caps.
Sorry, couldn't resist...
Bingo! It's the floating chamber, of course.
