Which cartridge is a better peformer. The Stinger is rated at 1,640 fps and the Aguila HP is rated at 1,750 fps. Stinger has a nice nickel case and Aguilar has the regular brass casings.

buy both and shoot for groups. I just did a comparison of 10 types of 22lr ammo in my bolt action marlin and 10/22. Groups migrated all over the paper and some "groups" were bigger than my hand. all at 50yds

It did turn out though, that the Stingers were one of the best for groups. I shot a 15lb groundhog, 1 shot kill to the main body area and the bullet pulled guts out the other side. great performance, maybe not for squirrel though

I have never found a case where CCI stingers were the most accurate ammunition in any .22 rimfire. I have some on hand but they are pretty old as they don't seem to kill anything "deader" than other more accurate .22 ammunition. The stinger also uses a longer case than other .22 lr rounds and that may or may not be why it seems less reliable in semiautos than others as well.

I agree about the accuracy issue with hyper-velocity .22RF ammo.

I have tested a lot of it in a lot of guns and never found anything that grouped it as good as regular .22LR of one brand or another, depending on the gun.

I'd much rather have small groups then hyper-velocity lightweight bullets scattered all over.

I have tried Aguila ammo in pistols, revolvers and rifles. Including various weights. I have not been impressed with it in any firearm or configuration.
The CCI-Stingers do work well in a couple of my firearms, The CCI-mini-mags work better in others, and I have a S&W Air Lite 22 revolver that simply loves the Remington target ammo.
Go figure....

I guess the purpose of these bullets is for varminting? I don't really see the point. Dead is dead, no matter how much you pay for the ammo.

I have chronographed the Aguila Super Max and it ran around 1500-1550fps average out of my 22" bolt Marlin single shot , IIRC. That was for around 10 shots.
I have not chronographed the Stinger, but I would put it at the top of the heap for performance in the 22 LR case. I believe that the Stinger may run closer to advertised velocity.
Accuracy is relative to different rifles, and would have to be compared for the final judgement.

All depends on the firearm.

My Beretta Bobcat is very picky about ammo.
Most Value Pack ammo isn't strong enough to reliably cycle it.

Stingers & Velocitors do for the most part.

But Fiocchi High Velocity (22HVCRN) works flawlessly.
(and it's about $2.69 for a box of 50)

I just shot last weekend with several different types of 22lr ammo including stingers, mini mags, winchester, federal, etc... I used my Ruger 10/22 and my daughters Marlin model 60 and what I found really surprised me. I always thought it was a bunch of hype over what type of ammo - until I tried it for myself.

In my Ruger 10/22 I usually shot bulk federals but when I tested the winchester super x my groups got about 3" tighter at 50 yards (10 shot groups) - then when I switched to cci mini-mags my groups went down to just over 1" at 50 yards, when I tried the stingers the groups spread out to around 2"-2.5". So I am now a firm believer that rifles like certain ammos - I will use only CCI mini-mags in my ruger from now on.

My daughters Marlin though wasn't so picky it shot the super-x, mini mag, and stingers all equally as well - just a matter of where to put the sights for which ever ammo. So I stuck with mini-mags for that rifle just because then I have all the same interchangeable ammo.

So the best advice I can give it try different brands out and see for yourself - the difference will probably show itself on the paper.

Good luck and good shooting!

I did try all kinds of .22LR including the Stinger HP and the Aguila HP and on both shot fine on a Browning Buckmarc and S & W 617. I did find out that the Buck Marc can outshoot the 617 as it much more accurate with all different types of ammo. The 617 is not.

I never really found any of the faster .22lr ammo to be that accurate or do any better than most standard or hv velocity brands for killing rabbits and tree rats. The faster rounds can be more fun for plinking.

I have found the CCI Stinger to be more accurate, but I have not shot much of the Aquila hyper velocity stuff. I have only shot both in rifles. The hyper velocity 22 ammo is generally of average accuracy which means about 0.75-1" groups commonly at 50 yds.

Which rounds have you found to be more accurate? The .40 grain .22 LR's? The Aguila Interceptor, CCI Velocitor?
What I like about the Stingers is the casing is nickel coated so it doesn't tarnish as bad as the gold brass shells on most .22 LR's.
