I HAVE no idea what they taste like.
Thanks for the info.Stinger, thousands of people have eaten squirrels for eons. Think for a moment: If they're not small-game animals, why do so many states have seasons and bag limits?
Sure, many of us call them "tree rats". In town, they can indeed be a rat-type problem. But they are indeed edible.
Prairie dogs, OTOH, are not. They're pests, in the eyes of farmers and ranchers. Aside from being much smaller than squirrels, they carry plague. IOW, not enough meat to bother with, and you risk getting bitten by the fleas.
In general, for rabbit-size animals and smaller, use whichever .22 rimfire cartridge gives you the tightest groups. Again, a generality: A lot of these alleged differences among the various options are largely in the eye of the advertiser.
So you do notice a difference in performance between both Stingers? Segmented does more damage? Both are of the same weight and design but yet calls for different sighting specs?the segmented hollow points are great. I had to adjust the scope on my 10/22 in order for them to zero at at 50 yds compared to stingers, but all of the ground hogs i killed with them drop in thier tracks

that's exactly what I wanted to know. So the segmented does more damage.IMO, i think the plain old stingers are much more accurate, but i can tell a night and day difference in the stopping power on small game. the segmented HP is by far more destructive than the stinger
Wish they let hunt gobbler with a 22 here in Texas, nice gobbler.I shot gobbler in the spring with one 70 yards neck shot... CCI stinger I recall not sure if it split in one o re more pieces, but that turkey was dead when I walked to him.
So you shot that goobly gobbler with a segmented Stinger HP? Or a regular Stinger HP?Wish they let hunt gobbler with a 22 here in Texas, nice gobbler.
