remmington 22 ammo is junk. thunderbolts of course being the worst but i have problems with all of it that ive tried in all of my guns even had ftf in a revolver with the golden bullet that i paid good money for. ive never had a problem with cci and you will never hear me refer to any other ammo as junk (at least i havent yet)

Glad you have all this time to stand around to shot a mole. Why not buy one of these and start gigging moles. If you can shoot them with a 22 you can gig them with out all the standing around waiting. and waiting. Waiting for what by the way?? Movement? gig and go.

Yeah, I smash down some tunnels, and set up a chair, and wait for them to move back in. I came close once. I had been waiting for a while, so I went inside to get something to drink, "It's only 5 minutes", I thought. When I came back the tunnel was pushed back up, right where I was watching.

Try a Victor #0645 trap- Spring-loaded plate with needle spikes pointed down, and a trigger pan in the middle of 'em. The thing has a frame with flat strap spikes on either side of the nasty part, to hold it in the ground You flatten the mound, push the trap down so the trigger touches the flat place, and wait. Mr. mole comes along, and the flat side spikes that hold the trap in the ground keep him from making a detour. So he decides to fix the flat spot, and BAM! Speared, DRT.

Accuracy counts and, with rare exception, the hyper velocity stuff is usually pretty poor in that regard. You can't make up for 70 ft lbs and .22 caliber with 32 grains using magic bullets. They might have application on possums, but not much else as I see it.

I've got a 22LR pistol in my truck for those night bank drops, it's loaded with segmented Stingers.

I have bigger guns, but I'll spare you that one. However, I hope you live in a cool climate. I've never had good luck leaving rimfire ammo in my truck in the summer. The 150 degree heat melts lube, turns a box of ammo into a brick, that not being a good thing. :D The heat and humidity does 'em no favors for ignition, either. Of course, this is Corpus, 100 degees with humidity to match. Me, I just carry my gun. I don't believe in "truck guns". Hell, I'm usually on a motorcycle, anyway.

The stingers shoot accurately in my savage semi-auto(model 795) and remington ammo has given the most trouble in it. With the remingtons it just gets jammed easily.
But my friends rifle was eating them up just fine and told me about how the federals always jam for him, and it's funny because out of the common ammo federal bulk shoot just fine in my rifle.

The stingers do a good deal of damage but for my application I'm just fine with the cheap bulk pack of federals. As stated already its the accuracy that counts and luckily a .22 is cheap to feed. So just experiment until you've figured out what works best in your rifle.
