The truth is, mine was unreliable and many others have had similar problems.
Give me one example of a gun that a quick internet search won't expose some "problem". Pulling threads from a forum is not "well documented". I can find a thread about some problem on ANY gun, or car, or blender. What you chose not to post are all the threads on ppstalk from people who love their PPS and have never had a problem. If the gun were as bad as you make it out to be, it wouldn't even be sold any longer.

By the way, that slide lock problem the owner of ppstalk posted was from 2008.

Your OPINION is that the PPS is the work of the Devil, but it is not "well documented".

I bought one. I had severe issues. I was warned by a knowledgeable firearms instructor based on his personal and professional experience. I had the exact problems he warned me about. I looked those problems up and saw that many others had similar problems. That is not opinion.

You seem to be getting quite emotional about a simple hand tool and I will not argue over the merits of my experience with you. I provided you with information from actual owners from sites dedicated to owners of that hand tool. You reply with a quick, defensive jab. Obviously you are happy with yours. I hope that works out for you. I do not get emotional about my firearms. They either work or they don't there is no grey area. Enjoy your PPS.

Now you're saying it's "your experience". If you would have left it at that, I never would have said a thing. But when a person is looking at a gun-ANY gun-and someone claims the "problems are well documented" when really what they mean is "some threads on an internet forum", it makes it that much harder to make an informed decision.

It's not just about defending the PPS. I don't even own a Glock, yet I shake my head every time I read yet another thread about the "legendary kaboom" that plagues Glock far more in the internet world than it does in the real world.

Documented = written accounts of incidents. Well Documented = Several accounts of similar incidents. I provided you with links that show I am not alone with the specific issues affecting my PPS. There is a common theme to 3 distinct issues. The gun is not a piece of crap but it is plagued by some issues specific to that gun. If you poke around the PPStalk site and Walther site for a while you will see where owners of these guns put some sort of wraparound grip on their guns to make sure the backstrap disengagement thing-a-ma-bob doesn't leave their gun useless when they need it. The slide stop sprig is also a well known issue. Go to the forums for this gun and you will see it is VERY COMMON to have the slide stop spring break and the slide lock back. This is not an opinion. It is happening. If I were looking at a gun and this information were available to me and I asked for opinions I would hope someone would tell me before I spent $600. Hell, I wish I had read more before I bought it.

Jbabbler,
The Backstrap disengagement thing-a-ma-bob was an old issue. The new ones don't have that issue from what I read.
Most people put the wraparound rubber grip on the 40 cal to cushion the snappy recoil.
The PPS is a nice gun, perfect maybe not, but then what gun is. I'm personally happy with my PPS. Even $1000 Kimbers have problems.

You also might want to go to the Keltec forum where you can find out how many problems they have.

I'm personally happy with both my Walthers and really like the mag release.
