CCW Poll: Caliber, location

Since the pocket gun poll seems popular. I figured I would do this.

I didn't list smaller calibers because of size limits of poll and because I think most of those would be covered on Pocket Poll.


Note you can vote for more than one category. Say primary and BUG or main carry and occasional carry.

Most of the time it is a 45 caliber Colt 1991A1 in a Desantis Inner Piece IWB holster on the strong side.

Most of the time I carry 1911 on the strong side. Occasionally though I'll carry a compact USP.

I carry a Makarov in 9mm Makarov (aka 9X18 ). That caliber wasn't on the list

Well I guess you can't put every caliber on the poll, so I'll forgive you this time

I carry it IWB, cross-draw stlye. I like cross-draw because it is easyer to get at my handgun from a sitting postition (for example, if I'm sitting in my car), and I can draw it with my left hand if my right was un-avalible for some reason. I can't draw left-handed with my gun on my right hip...

My choices are: 45acp, strong side IWB, BUT since I live in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornistan, I DON'T GET TO CARRY CCW so I didn't vote in the poll.

Seems 45 and 9x19 are much more popular than 357 & 40. I was expecting more 40. Thought it would be closer to 9x19.

I wonder why? Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan or opponent of 40. Just was expecting more people to be using it.

I have to adapt a lot here of late, have to be "inventive".
