Nothing profound, but I wanted to share my experience. I have a Gen3 G26 and a Gen4 G19. I shoot the G26 very, very well. I'd been having trouble shooting the G19 particularly well. When I first got it, I tried the various grips and thought the large backstrap seemed best, but for some reason at the time I felt like my hand was slipping off it so I wound up going with no backstrap. For a few months and close to 500 rds I had struggled to get it to shoot as well as I can with my G26. For whatever reason it felt like I had to really grip it tight to keep flyers from sneaking up on me and the recoil from getting away from me. Recently I took the gun apart and did the $0.25 trigger job which worked out amazingly well and probably took at least a pound or more off the trigger pull. While I had it apart, I started playing with the grips again, and I realized the large backstrap really comes out aggressively kind of like the high-in-the-hand hump of the G26. I decided to give it a whirl and today it easily cut my groups in half and really improved my control. I didn't have to death grip it anymore with the extra hump filling out the bottom part of my palm better. I'm shooting it much more like I do my G26. Of course the improved trigger pull helped a lot too.

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience.

Thanks for sharing. I have a new Glock 19 Gen 4 (my first Glock). My thumb hits the slide stop which causes the action to close after the last round. I will change out the back strap to see if that helps with this issue too.
