Hey Guys,

I was just curious to know what kinds of groups your Hi-Powers shoot with CHEAP ammo, i.e. WWB, Remington-walmart, Wolf, etc.

Usually, I'm extremely picky about what I feed my guns (especially rifles) for accuracy testing purposes, but I haven't run any premium ammo through my FEG PJK-9HP or my FN Policia Buenos Aires '61 yet so I'm not certain the groups I'm getting are representative of what those pistols will do. Most of the groups are in the 5" range at 20yds. At first I thought I just wasn't a good pistol shooter, but I found I can hold 1" or so at the same range with my Browning Buckmark Target (with good ammo).

I just wanted to make sure that I don't have two lemon Hi-Powers!

I can usually get 2"-3" at 25 yards using a two hand hold, no rest with Browning Hi Powers using UMC or Remington ammo. The WWB usually has slightly larger groups.

Impossible to say.

The only way you will know is put the guns on a bench and fire them with good ammo. Even with the cheap stuff you should be able to get 3" to 4" groups from the rest @ 25 yards

Remember the buckmark is a target gun the HP is a combat gun. 3" to 4" groups at 25 yards is acceptable.

rellascout: I didn't mean to imply I expect the HP's accuracy to be on par
with the Buckmark. The Buckmark is the yardstick for MY
performance...I just wanted to make sure I can shoot before I
pass judgement on my other pistols!

I was not knock you I was just stating a range of what to expect.

My guess is that the pistols are fine. Are the magazine discontects still in the gun? If so they can turn the HP trigger into crap which might be the source of your issues.

I don't shoot any Wolf or Blazer in my HP, so I can't comment on those.

With the White box Winchester, the Yellow box UMC/Remington and S&B 9mm ammo I usually get 14 shot groups about the diameter of the top of a Coke can if I'm going slow (about 3 and 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter) and and taking my time, then the groups size of a small saucer (6 to 7 inches in diameter with the group maybe being strung a little vertical) if I'm in a hurry at 25 yards. If you buy bulk, it's between $5.99 and $6.99 for a box of twenty and I buy several hundred rounds at a time to try and get the price break.

I don't really ever measure groups with calipers, so maybe that will tell you something.
