Cheap but effective gun safe?

Hanzo, a gun cabinet or a safe will prevent a smash and grab DB from grabbing your stuff and keep kids out. A theif with enough time could empty fort knox. The level of protection you get with a sub $500 safe isn't much. A couple of prybars, or if you know where to drill take a punch and smack the door lock lugs in you can defeat most inexpensive safes in only a few min. watch this starting around 2:40min http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBhOjWHbD6M

It is going to be bolted to the ground and attached to the wall inside a pretty small closet, all I am asking is for the best for my budget. I understand it is not going to keep a determined criminal out, but around here I worry more about teens doing smash and grabs.

You'll be served well by a inexpensive safe for that purpose...like a few others have said the "winchester" sold at Sam's for $700 is a decent pick I've seen the big sentry safes at Dicks Sporting goods on sale for under $1K. One thing I did was get the bigger unit because they fill up fast! I use the Gun Cabinets to stack my ammo and accessories in.

I am really just concerned about my firearms, it would kill me to think my guns were on the street being used by criminals. Eventually when I get a bigger house I would likely upgrade to a nice safe large and use my bargain safe for ammo. As it stands I just don't have the space or money for some of the higher ends safes.
