    So its time for an ar scope, question is which one.

    I'm not monied (spent the money i'd saved on the ar), so i'd appreciate advice on a cheap (<200) scope.

    I'm looking at bushnell 3200 1.5 - 5
    Nikon Monarch Shotgun 1-4
    Sightron SII 1.75 - 5 (?)

    The cheaper bushnells simmons', etc
    Also the fake acog's.

    So out of all of these, which is going to give me the best bang for the buck. I'm not kicking down doors. :)

    I've just recently purchased two Nikon Prostaff scopes. A 3-9x40 for my .30-06 and a 4x32 for my .243 (gonna get another 3x9 for this one later). I couldn't be happier with the clarity or performance. I spent 160 for one of them and 99.00 for the other. Hard to beat the Nikon's quality at that price point.

    Do you need magnification? Bushnells are great for the money in the 1.5-6 or so magnification range. If you don't need magnification, but want speed and accuracy out to 200 or so yards, get a Bushnell Holocope. Remember, it is the identical sight as the vaunted EOTech, with only minor external differences. The EOTech and Holoscope both have a 1 MOA center dot, providing a very accurate aiming point. The 65 MOA circle around the dot helps you to find it very fast. IMO, it's the best unmagnified sight on the market. You can get it for about $250 (the Holoscope version, not the EOTech.) Get an AA battery verison if you can.

    Never tried a Sightron but the Bushnell and Nikon Monarch are both good scopes. The Burris FFII is also an excellent scope in that price range.

    I just bought one of the new cheap Pentax Gameseeker scopes in 1.5-6 x 40 to try out, they are very cheap and it seems to be of decent quality. I mounted it on my .50 Beowulf so if it ever stops raining I'll find out how it holds up to recoil.

    Sightron = Leupold - 20%(price)

    Just like

    Meopta = Swarovski - 40%(price)
