I usually just run a toothbrush over this assembly. Do I need to do anything else? Would I be going overboard by lubing the spring, or just leave it dry?

Please no wise crack about not cleaning your Glock at all, I'm rather annal about cleaning my firearms, even my AK gets a rag down the barrel occasionally!

I wipe the springs with an oiled cloth just to get a light coating on the springs. Not too much because excess oil is just a dirt magnet.

I run a rag, with a little gun oil between the spring runs also and then come back with a dry rag to get the excess off.

Exactly just what I did not just 20 min ago.
