Could someone please confirm this is parody? This can't possibly be serious footage.

I once saw an interview with Cloris Leachman, in which she appraised herself and other comics in terms of 'laughs per minute' in their standup acts. I counted at least one 'something wrong' every five seconds on average, many of them borderline comical. Does anyone have any greater context on this clip, as I was not exposed to it 'live' (thankfully). Was the gun range intentionally torpedoing the reporter with semi-plausible misinformation?

"Fully semi-automatic?"

I watched that today. I don’t doubt the guy is a General. But it appears he was purposefully loosely holding the AR to show an increase in recoil. His form was all wrong. And I swear, I laughed out loud when he called it “fully semi-automatic “.

From Clinton Network News? It's serious.

Notice how they shot it from inside a building, and recorded the sound from in the front of the muzzle, to over exaggerate,
and give the audience the perception of being much louder, and more powerful than it really is ?

Yea I heard that “fully semi automatic” and had to wonder if he had a clue.
Also did his form shooting look odd to anyone else?

As for the rest of the video. It really seems like CNN bias crap and scripting. I’ve never met anyone who was in. The military who talked like that. So I wonder how much he was paid.

Pretty sad but I can’t get much news from the news anymore...if the guy had less accurate information he could be a college professor in the liberal arts.

I mostly thought it humorous that his 'rapid fire' was still pretty slow. And the flinching. And M4s being made from AR15s. And the chicken wing with stock bouncing off his cheek. And especially the 'full semi-automatic' which is definitely textbook Orwellian Newspeak (double-plus ungood badfeel boom boom). "I won't probably hit the target" ('25 yard range' sign in background). Also, pulling the empty mag instead of hitting the release.

From what I can tell, the General witnessed a fratricide incident once, and otherwise spent his days running physical training programs. I'm not military, but a cursory examination suggests nothing supporting his supposed 'expert' status on this topic. Or most of the other topics he seems to weigh in on at the CNN network, for that matter (geopolitics).

Do take note, everybody, how diligent and intentional they are to completely conflate semi-automatic with select-fire guns. Then think of all the recent press about how bump-fire is too similar to fully-automatic.

Put two and two together.

I wish they had shown the Fire Selector switch, on the AR15s they were shooting. It seems, the way they were talking, that
there were 7 Fire selector positions: Fully Automatic, Automatic, Fully Semi Automatic, Semi Automatic, Fully Single-fire, Single-fire, and SAFE.

I have to admit to feeling a little ripped off, both my ARs have only "FIRE" and "SAFE" selector positions.

Yeah, the AKR 47/15 used to be the most deadly weapon of war, up until the creation of the M4 16 asalt matchinggun....

We don’t have to put two and two together. CNN did it for us. They took two very popular weapons and put them with two paid morons. And then they recorded it and made some great comedy for educated 2A supporters.

True
But for their audience they reinforced the fear of these scary black rifles. “The Most Trusted Name In News” just showed it so it must be true. “Gun Nuts” are the ones lying why someone NEEDS these “powerful” “weapons of war”.

I doubt that he was a general. Most generals I ever met were proud and had a commanding presence about them. This idiot was not even shouldering the weapon properly. The butt stock was not even touching his shoulder, and other times he was shooting he held the weapon like he was a grandmother. The only good thing he said was that if we want to own one we should be able to. CNN should use a private or corporal to show everyone how it is properly done.

I don’t really think so. They are one of the lowest rated networks out there. In their quest to sell advertising, spread controversy, and their agenda, they forgot this thing called Integrity. And it has cost them. As it has cost many networks. The American people aren’t stupid. Though some are greatly misinformed. One day those Americans will realize that misinformation is simply manipulation. And then they’re gonna be pissed.

Can anyone tell my why lying to the American public via media isn’t a punishable offense? Aren’t we the owners of this country? If it’s a crime to lie to the fbi, a service that works for us, shouldn’t it be a damn crime to lie to us? This one would be easily proven as straight BS.

Yes, but it's not a crime for the FBI to lie to YOU. See Ruby Ridge, Waco, email-gate, and the FISA warrants...

You’re right. That’s why everything was in quotes.
It’s actually worse for them than folks would realize as their ratings include all of the airports and McDonalds that are paid to have TVs with them on.

Funny thing you should mention that. Lying to a populace to sway public opinion during an election is exactly what the House Intelligence Committee and the FBI are investigating. And there have been 13 federal indictments for that. Except, there is no law stating the “News” has to report facts. Even if they claim they are facts. And that my friend is the untold truth about “News”. They can legally lie to us. The courts have ruled that we (the citizens) are the final determiners of “truth”. The reason the news lies or embellishes is for one purpose, to keep us hooked so we watch the commercials. That’s what they do. They sell advertising.

Even with cleanup work, I don't see how this can possibly keep from turning from a discussion of the video into a general/off-topic rant about the news/media. :(
