So whats wrong with the Colt? Looks alot like a LDA to me. Ever think there are people who would want a double action 1911? I would. I like the way they feel over a Sig or Glock or HK but would rather carry a DA all the time instead of cocked and locked, It's safer in my opinion.

Someone said they need to come out with new products. They did. And your growling about it? Who is coming out with anything different really> Glock? no, same gun just different sizes and calibers.

Personally I do wish Colt would go back to producing their revolvers like they did before stopping everything but Ar's and 1911's. I felt they let me down as shooter and didn't care what we wanted.

Just my opinion though :)

I like the feel of a 1911 too, but a SIG P220 feels great too and if needs be the grips can be changed. Glocks and HK's are not my cup of tea either.

By new products I mean new, not rehashes of the 1911 with new trigger groups in double action only. I have do doubt a nice single stack .45ACP could be designed with a DOA trigger group that would be better suited to DAO operation than trying to make it fit into a 1911 frame.

I agree they should bring back their DA revolvers too, and maybe think about offering some SA revolvers that are not Coy Boy action guns. Maybe some hunting oriented SA revolvers, perhaps a slightly larger frame and longer cylinders. That type of thing.

11. Bring back the detective special so Taurus is not the only six shot light weight game in town. That is just embarrasing.

Years ago, I was at Fort Bragg, training to go to Viet Nam. We were in the field all the time, and there was a thing about knives. Everyone had a knife. The PX sold knives like they were going out of style. And people would argue about "My brand X knife is better than your brand Z knife."

But when people asked about my knife, I'd say, "I have a Randall" -- and that ended the discussion.

Nowadays when people ask what snubbie I have, I say, "I have a Detective Special" and it has the same effect.:D

This new gun might sell well & it might not. It depends on marketing & whatever buzz is generated by the gun rags. It's not a 1911 though, it's not even a 1911"style" gun dispite it's outward appearance.
