I call them the Big Three, Colt, Smith & Wesson and Ruger.

Yes another one of those perhaps silly questions, it being if you could only have
one handgun, specifically a revolver, from which maker would it be.

Doesn't matter the model, just the maker. A choice might well be that only
one maker has the model you want. Or it might come down to brand loyalty
or perhaps the one that has proven itself the most over the years or recently.

With Colt now fully back into the wheelgun market I suspect that some will
be considering that maker which before wouldn't have even been considered.

Again. only one handgun and it is a revolver and which maker of the three
mentioned in the title. No other makers. Need not be current production.

Hopefully, this is a fun thread so let's not get too serious.

For me, it would be.......

Love how smooth my old detective special is. However I have shot the dang thing enough that I once got it out of time. Got it fixed back when I could find a Colt gunsmith. Then went back to my Smiths. For single gun I would always pick Smith and Wesson, they just work a

What cartridge?

For big bore it would have to be Ruger.

For .357 cal, a Smith K frame for 38 and a Smith L frame for 357 mag.

I love the Smiths but I’m a Ruger guy. I’ve been one since I got my single six from my Dad at 13 in 73.

Agreed. I have all 3. For non magnum I might like smith better. But ive sent back more broken and shot loose Smith 44 than all the others despite having fired 50x more rounds through Rugers 44s.

They are svelte, as another said, but they can't handle real use with even factory hunting ammo IME.

The newer anaconda I don't have enough rounds to know yet but so far, so good

For me it would have to be Smith and Wesson, I own more S&W than all the rest combined. I own more Webley's that Rugers. I don't own any Colts and have little interest in owning a Colt of any variety. I carry, compete and hunt with a S&W revolver of one flavor or another.

I love S&W, any kind, but I recently bought a 4" Ruger GP-100 Match Champion in 10mm to go with my 4" S&W 610 and I love them both. But if I could only have one it would be the Ruger.
I have owned Colt revolvers but sold them all.
