Got my new carry gun a few days ago, Colt XSE lightweight commander model. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but plan on getting it out tomorrow. It is bone stock. I figger a few hundred rounds of ball first. Anyone have one of these? What ammo does it like? I was thinking I'd try the usuals...Gold Dots, Golden Sabers, Hydrashocks...first.

My friend has one and I've been lusting after it for a few years. The trigger is perfect, its as accurate or more than most full size 1911's and eats anything. Drat!

I've had my XSE since last year & it's has been an absolute joy to own. 100% reliable & more accurate than I had expected. I'm actually planning on a matching blue one to round out the set ;) Congrats

I bought the exact same model about three weeks ago.

I think this just *might* turn out to be my most favorite pistol.

I have run about 700 rounds thru it so far with the only stoppage being due to the absolute filth of a box of S&B 230 ball I ran thru it.

The 200 gr XTP Hornady and IMI are hella accurate.

Shooting this gun gives me a big time woodie. It's light, accurate and gobbles up everything I put in it. The only thing I have done to it is swap the wood grips for the finger groove Hogues and switch the the crappy OEM McCormick mag followers out with Tripps.

I put up a post about my initial impression, that covers it a little more in depth :

XSE Lightweight Commander - Range Report

You will love this pistol :D

I have a Colt XSE to test reliability I ran 300 rounds of Gold Dot through it without a hitch. I love mine and REALLY want to get the light weight version of it.

Mine feeds everything except corbons. Corbons sometimes get stuck on the feed ramp. I have been shooting hardball, hydra-shocks, and golden sabers in it with no problems.
