...an all stainless "Series 70" Government Model!

According to the Colt rep over at 1911Forum, it looks like such a pistol might be available by May.

All forged steel, internal extractor, no FP block or FCS... plus a little prancing pony on the slide. :p

If it goes into production, the Dan Wesson just lost its place on the "Shop For" list! :D

It is nice to see some one of the old guard posting on the 'net! :D

My favorite gun shop has a Colt 1911 custom shop model that's just screaming for me to buy it. It's stainless, but polished to the point where it looks like nickle plating. What's more, the gun is tight and mechanically exceptional. (Yeah, it's a pimp gun. So sue me).

Maybe Colt really is getting its act together.

Sweet! cant wait to see one. Hope they dont have cheesy grips. (yuck rubber)

I see Colt is building on its great innovative prowess by retrenching back 30 years.

At least they won't be sued by Kahr for patent infringement and have to stop making the 1911 Series 70 guns.

These are the guns Colt should have been making 20-30 years ago. Mil-spec simplicity with stainless durability. The only thing that's going to sink their sales is if Colt asks a ridiculously high price for them. Considering that the blued S70 retails for just under $900 (some places are expecting over a thousand bucks for one), I can only imagine what the price tag is going to be like on a stainless model.
