It is beveled. I got the Weigand Tension gauge today with the tension gauge set and upon checking tension per the instructions, the extractor is way too loose. I think I read it should be about 25 ounces plus or minus a couple and after four different readings to be sure I was reading the scale right, it ran between 8-10 ounces...way too light. I'm going to adjust to 25 ounces and see how well it will hold a round now. Before if you put a round under the extractor with it lined up with the firing pin hole and shook it a bit it would fall out.
I know too loose an extractor will cause extraction/ejector problems but with it that loose maybe it's causing feed/FTRTB issues as well. I didn't really have any extraction or ejection issues just a sporadic feed issue and FTRTB problem.
I set up the tension at 28 ounces. We'll see what happens at the range next time. Neat little gadget this tensioning tool and gauge.
