...Sorry to go off subject but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with 17lbs wolf hammer springs on their 226s. Was considering putting one in my IDPA gun. Saw one person post earlier that they had no trouble with theirs, wondering if anyone else has used them.
Not a 226 but my 229/40 has one..
Best just get a main spring kit from Wolff, around 20 bucks, that comes with, IIRC, 5 mainsprings, 21lb, 20, 19, 18, 17lb, 16, and their easy to swap out with the factory 24lb one. T
The key is do you have a long main spring, top to bottom of grip or a short main spring with a aprox 1" *plastic base/bottom and go from there.. *least this is for 229's, not having a 226 to gauge fyi.
I went between 18lb and 17lb thinking the 17lb was too good, and the 18lb was just a tad, not to my liking, so I put the 17lb back on and it went thru the first 500 rounds without any light-strikes. That was some 3700 rounds back and it's still going 100% with any new ammo.
Takes about 3 days to receive from Wolff
