I picked up a 1100 that is in good condition except for the blueing being rubbed off. There are no gunsmiths close to me that does blueing so if I get it reblued, I will have to send it off. What can I expect to pay to have this reblued? Any suggestions on where to send it?
Thanks guys.

I would rather Oxpho blue one vs send it off to someone I didn't know and couldn't examine their work in person.

Do it yourself, rust bluing isn't that difficult, it's just time consuming. I did a revolver and it turned out very nice.

An 1100? I agree with jmorris. Oxpho-Blue it yourself. If you are absolutely insistent on sending it out, I recommend Pat Laib; his shop did all the bluing for the shop I worked at, and it was always well done.

Ive been hot bluing with a butane stove and a 5 quart stainless pot. Just need di water, kno3 or kno3 based fertilizer 16-0-0, sodium hydroxide, thermometer, and correct ppe. There are aome good basic guides on the interwebs, and stuff like a shotgun action fits into the pot fine....cant do a barrel unless you can get the correct length tank, i just bought a tank from Brownells but need more stoves, or i need to build a pipe burner to run it.

I realize that it won't cost much to have somebody else reblue it but it's a simple weapon to disassemble and it hasn't got a lot of parts so it would be simpler gun than most to learn how to blue.
