DeerCreek Rifle range?
I am planning on visiting deercreek rifle range sometime in the next week or so.
I drove by the delaware wildlife range on Wedneday, 3/28, and it was closed due to high water. I drove by the deercreek range Tuesday, 3/27 and it appeared to be dry, though I stopped by after it had closed so all I could see was from the gate at the entranceway.
I have a Mosin Nagant I have been cleaning up that I have never shot, I also just put a scope on a 9mm carbine and need to get it zeroed. I also have a .22 Marlin 780 clone, (Sears) and my trusty 7.62x39 Yugo SKS. I would probably only bring the carbine and the Mosin Nagant, or maybe just the carbine as I want to try the electolysis cleaning trick with the Mosin a few more times to get some more of the deep carbon deposits out of the barrel.
I live in Columbus and I actually have weekends off this shift rotation. The PRO gun show is this coming weekend, 3/31 and 4/1, so I am not sure how that will affect my schedule as I would like to stop by there either Saturday or Sunday.
If someone is interested in possibly driving to deercreek on Saturday or Sunday leave a post.
If you have never been to deercreek rifle range the easiest way to get there is south on 71 until you get to state route 56. Take south/east state route 56 to Mt. Stearling. Go south on state route 62 to where 207 branches off to the east. The rifle range is on Yankeetown road. The range is located north of 207 and west of Yankeetown road which it is off of. The maps at the DNR shows it fairly clearly.

I live on the east side so deercreek is about the same distance away as delaware.
