I've been thinking about how I don't get to experience this new freedom that has recently come to the most of America. What I'm thinking about is maybe buying an AR-15 lower receiver (maybe stripped, maybe full, depending on how much money I can gather together) through our friends in Oregon.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not advocating anything against the law- they'd have legal posession, and it would be held by them. Anyway, I'd like to do this because of A) Spite- I wanna piss off an anti-gunner, and B) I'm kinda afraid of a second ban in the time before I move out of CA and can legally buy one myself.

So, I have two questions. First, who produces the cheapest, good-quality AR lowers? I'm thinking maybe RRA or Bushy.
Second- What about full-cap magazines? If I did this lower purchase, I'd probably want maybe 10 or so magazines to go with it. Speaking as someone who was a toddler when standard capacity magazines were cheap and legal to produce, how much money could I expect an AR-15 30 rounder to be when the prices stabalize over the next few months?

Thanks

Lots of companies make good AR lowers. I have a cheaper OLY which some people might not like but it's worked fine for me. Do a search on this site. As far as magazines, they should probably stablize out in the $14 or $15 dollar range, that's for steel, no-name brand. If you want better plastic/composite mags expect to pay more; I'm guessin' those will probably end up around $22 or $23, probably even a bit less over time.

You do know that is defined as a straw purchase which can land your friend in the Bartel Hotel?

Straw purchases are illegal.

However, you can always convince your friend to buy an AR, and then trade him for a $.99 disposable razor when he tires of it.

You have to be smarter than the mattress to rip the tag off of it.
