Time to contact one of the forum moderators. They can cut through the problems and get you logged in.

Find “Eliphalet R Moderator” among the pinned threads on the SASS Wire and explain the problem to him.

20211230_113606.jpg Kenda Lenseigne is a Mounted comp. shooter and has a deal with Uberti for her preferred setup. They are El Patron based (I believe) with the lowered, wide hammer spur and it has 4 large cuts across the spur that really grab hold of your thumb! I liked it so much my Dragoons got those ( but only 3 cuts)!!!

Anyway, you might look at a pair of those as a nice starting base.
Keep in mind, Rugers are nice but are heavy.

I just sent the SASS Wire administrators an email on your behalf asking for an email address so that you can get some help. When they respond to me I will PM you the info they send me.

Thank you for the message. I have been trying to get on the SASS Wire Forum as I saw a pair posted there for sale. Unfortunately, I have had no luck getting any kind of response. I never get the e-mail to confirm my e-mail and have sent multiple message with no responses received. :(

Have had the same lack of response for over a week.

Montados are RARE. Hardly ever set one for sale.
Vaqueros in .45C show more often, most are they 4 5/8" barrel. Occasionally, a Sheriff model will appear, 3 1/2" barrel. Most will be with birdhead grip, though.

A year ago, Vaqueros with 4 5/8" barrel were $450-$500. Now, they are double that.

Like mentioned earlier, forget the customization. Get a basic gun or pair of guns. Practice, practice, practice and have fun.
IF she becomes a serious competitor and skill level will benefit from "slick" custom work; she will have had time to save $$$$ and knowledge to decide what is needed.

First concern is, she had purchased a horse; what does the horse think of her plans.

I shoot Cowboy Action. I have 6 horses and ride regularly. I have fired a shot from horseback, 1 TIME.

The horse is more important than what gun she is shooting.

Right horse is most important for sure! Has a gorgeous Appendix Quarter Horse. Ridden Western and English. Loves to Jump. Pretty level headed. Working on the gun fire portion now...

I haven't looked for a while, but I think you can find 3"-3.5" Italian import SAA clones in 45 colt. They were fairly common in 38 special when I was looking at them, and I'm pretty sure I would see them in 45 caliber sometimes.

I got a nice Cimarron 4.75" model NiB for something like $400 plus tax just eight months ago.

(Time passes...)

Yeah, I just checked GB. There are various plain-jane Italian 1873 copies with 3.5" barrels for sale right now, with either plow handle or bird's head grips. The cheapest I noticed at a glance was $519.

They might be fine to practice with at first, and could be improved if necessary. Mine is the base model, and its action is very smooth.
