Craziest Gun Training Techniques?

I can’t find it now, but there was a training video several years ago with a technique called the “blooming flower of death” or something like that. Guy was spinning around shooting a rifle and handgun at the same time to have rounds covering 360 degrees.

Found it:

Sonny Puzikas. famous for the Death Blossom and shooting one of his own students in a shoot house several years ago.

Should have been run out of town on a rail, but sometimes the aura of Spetznaz blinds folks to using common sense.

context is 2A. there's not a lot of historical precedent for patriots bringing their family along to do patriot stuff.

When the threat is brought to your door, family is involved. My point is more common sense, less bearded kid playing urban operator stuff.

I once happened to observe part of a training where the shooters were instructed to drop to their knees when the shooting starts. That way if they were hit they could fall backwards and continue to shoot...or something like that.

There was a video posted here a year or so ago where the drill was to shoot between moving obstacles at a target. There was also a movement component involved. The obstacles were other students!!!

I was at my rifle pistol club popping away at tin cans,,,
When a van drove up and unloaded about 6-7 people.

All but one picked places on the pistol range and started getting ready.

They shot one at a time at human silhouettes,,,
With the driver of the van standing right behind them,,,
Screaming and cursing like a WW-II sailor while they were shooting.

I'm no stranger to foul language,,,
But this man was going over the top,,,
He was like R. Lee Ermy on heavy steroids.

I walked over and asked one of the shooters what was going on,,,
He said is was called training to shoot under stress.

Turns out the screamer was an NRA certified trainer,,,
Who had started teaching classes for pay.

I Googled "Stress training at the range" and found that the idea is getting some traction,,,
I'm not going to say it's not valid or anything like that,,,
But it sure was unpleasant to hear at my range.

I'm not certain if the club stopped the guy or not,,,
But after seeing him every weekend for a month or more he stopped showing up.

I don't miss him.
