Crazy price on Marlin M60 .22LR

When Marlin ceased production the prices of them went up to $900'ish range. With so many out there it was not a sustainable price point though I had thought these might fetch in the $300 range. Asked the local shop and he told me about $150 is going rate with his buy price at $70-$80 from owners looking to sell.

Maybe they’re pricing it in Turkish Lira or Argentine Pesos. They think it’s cute when we talk about inflation….
Or it’s the rifle that killed Alexander the Great?

Like the guy on the street corner selling pencils for $500.00 each. He was asked how many he expected to sell at that price. His reply " I have only got to sell one ".

For those who don't know, Marlin/Glenfields made before 1986 had a 20 round tube. For the next 14 years they made a 16 round tube, but retained the longer barrel.
After 2000 they shortened the barrel to match the tube length and it's still like this.
I thought it was an 18 round tube, then later production was 15.

I don't know, other than what appears to be a broken trigger guard, gouges in the stock and the top of the receiver being all boogered up it looks pretty sweet. I might make an offer of 20k. Who knows, I could get it at half price!

I have read about guys being ordered to sell assets during divorce proceedings. Maybe he priced stuff outrageously so he could honestly report back that he put his stuff for sale, but got no takers. 😂

If someone does bid, give me their handle. I have a few gems I could part with, and I’ll give him the bargain price of $4,995.00.

Stay safe.

I wish I could find the listing, but on a local guntrader site someone had a Marlin 60 in a synthetic stock for $1k. Never seen one in synthetic but still can't imagine it be worth $1k
