Crossbreed Supertuck - Creaky?

Has anyone else had an issue with this holster creaking when in use? It only happens when actually carrying my sidearm and it just creaks continuously. I'm sure no one else notices (or cares) but it is noticeable enough that my wife knows when I'm carrying and when I'm not. I am wearing it with a Crossbreed gun belt so it's not being caused by a weak belt. I've tried oiling the horsehide and it's nice and soft but that doesn't have seemed to have an impact on the noise. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if they have discovered a fix for it? Thanks in advance.

But you don't have to coat it. Every couple of weeks my Parker holster gets a sprinkle of body powder that shuts it right up.

I just hit the creaky parts. Which on my holster is usually the spring clips

Mine does now and then, my biggest problem is that the metal clips tear up my belts, and even with a VERY good carry belt the thing keeps sliding down and dragging my pants with it. Like there is too much surface area to allow friction to keep them up.
I have to crank the belt so tight to make it acceptable that the belt quickly becomes uncomfortable.

Can't say I'm impressed so far.

do not oil your holster or belt

there is a product called "Obenauff's leather preservative" (sp?) that you can get various places (BeltMan had it cheapest AND with free shipping last time I needed some) ... it is a blend of beeswax and resin that is good for leather belts and holsters, and happens to reduce the creaking/scraping you get occasionally.

Jim, I have had the same experience with my supertuck. The creaking and squeaking drove me insane! I applied a strip of moleskin to the back of the clips that contacted the leather backing - stopped the creaking immediately.

I'm not hugely impressed with the metal clips either, except for their durability (I went through two sets of the plastic clips!). The holster slides around on my belt, too ( I use a wilderness instructor belt). I think the holster maker that uses rubber belt loops is on to something good there.

Needless to say, I'm not really pumped on this holster and will explore other options next time I need a concealment holster.

I've got no problem with the holster itself. Or the belt for that matter. Both, IMHO, are well built and do the job that they were designed to do. It's a relatively small sample size but this holster is the most comfortable rig I've tried. The creaking was really the only conceivable thing that I could complain about and a sprinkle of baby powder has fixed that. Appreciate the help, guys.

Mine was very creaky when I got it but then I put some felt on the back of the clips and most of the creakiness went away.
