Each Friday afternoon, Sat., and Sun., my local gun store (DFW suburb) is packed to the gills with people waiting on a shooting lane (indoor only) and many folks checking out the new guns looking for their first purchase. I guess I am just amazed at how many people are looking to buy their first handgun - and who are taken back at the wide range of choices (revolvers, 1911s, polymers, etc). Basically a lot of folks with no prior experience with a gun of any type whatsoever and not really sure what they plan to do with the gun. Also, there is young and old alike. I guess I am also surprised to see so many Y-Generation college kids out looking for a gun, male and female.
What is driving this heightened interest do you think? It seems to have picked up even more in the last 4 months compared to a year ago. Is it , Obama/anti-gunners, terrorism, tragedies like happened at Virginia Tech, all the above and more.
What is going on in your part of the country?
