I just sent out the ATF 7CR forms for my C&R license today and wonder just how many folks here have them. I'm under the impression there are more Highroaders with licenses to carry concealed than C&R license holders.

So, to satiate curiosity, how many of us have a CCW, a C&R license, or both.

For now, I can only vote CCW... but maybe in a few weeks I'll be in the prestigious "both" catagory! :D

The poll might end up a bit skewed. I have a C&R which is relatively easy to get in any state. I would have a CCW permit if I lived in a CA jurisdiction that issued them.

Ben good point about the individual's state and the CCW .

I'm in AR, have multiple CCWs. I get into enough trouble as is...I do enjoy learning from the sharing of the C&R folks btw. Perhaps someday, other priorites for me at the moment.

Maybe we need another catagory for 'I have a C&R, but I cannot get a CCW for some reason'. I'd be in that catagory, but I had to vote that I just had a C&R.

Both I'm sorry to say.If I'm not spending all my money on CCW guns and gear then I'm sending it to someone for another C&R firearm. Vicious Circle Isn't it!:banghead:

P.S.
Last night I had the mac,so tonight is? CHEEZE!!!

Just a CCW for now. There arent too many guns that qualify for C&R status that interest me. Perhaps a CZ-52 or a SKS. I'm more into the new fangled "super mega assault death machines" :p

Well I couldn't answer your poll. I have applied for my C&R it hasn't come yet. And I have a restricted CCW Permit seeing as I live in NY.

I have my CHL, but no C&R.

With your C&R FFL, you can purchase very old "C&R" firearms without going through an FFL for the transfer? And that's pretty much it, right?

pretty much it, right?
Yep, pretty much. Guns that are over 50 years old and guns that ATF has classified as collectible. Plus many businesses that offer FFL discounts include the 03-FFL. Good for buying accessories and replacement parts at dealer cost.

Like Hkmp5sd said, guns over 50 years old and those specifically designated by the BATF fall into the C&R category... not sure if that necessarily qualifies as "very old." There are some very desirable guns that fall into the C&R category... most SKS rifles, Mosin-Nagants, and Garands to name a few.

And don't overlook the "trade discounts" offered by many vendors of gun-related "stuff" to license holders. I've saved more than my license cost at Brownells alone.
