cz 455 american vs. ruger 77\22

had a ruger 77/22 for many years....thought it was a tack driver....then I bought a CZfs...452....it made the ruger look like a shotgun pattern.....sold the ruger to buy two more CZs......I do love my rugers.....but in 22.....CZ hands down

Between the two, I prefer the little Ruger. I like the way it handles; I like the way it looks and I like the rotary magazine. The CZ's a nice rifle too. And I prefer the Remington Model 504 over either one of them!

you guys with the cz, have you had any issues scoping it as far as the bolt handle goes?

I have scoped 4 of my 5 with no problems with any of them. Some have 3/8 dovetail, and others have 11mm, but no problem with bolt handle.

I have had a 77, but not a 455, I do have a 452 and wouldnt trade it for 2 77's lol

I have mounted several different scopes on CZs and never had any bolt issues...I wouldn't trade my used 455 for 2 new Rugers.

I had to ask because I've had issues with my mini-mauser and I recalled one of the cz guns having bolt handle issues. maybe it was the 527?

Go with the 455, you won't be sorry. Make sure you get GOOD GLASS and you'll be set. I like the AO scopes so you can be parallax free at any yardage. And there is the Yo-Dave trigger kit for around $20 that will make that thing almost shoot by itself! I'm getting 1/2" one hole groups at 50 yards with Wolf MT 22 ammo. I'll never part with this thing.

I have had both but the Ruger 77/22 Mk II V-bolt has the American beat hands down. The American is accurate enough, but for fit and finish my old 77/22 will beat it everytime.

I've had several examples of both and while the Ruger 77/22 is a nice, well made rifle, I've found the CZ's to be consistently more accurate and at least as equally well made if not superior. However, my CZ's are 452's and one 453. I'm not as impressed with the 455. I think if I knew the Ruger was as accurate (a big if) I might take a 77/22 over a 455.

WHat is the ring ? Is that the locking nut to change the barrel?

Whats the difference with a rifle with ring and no ring ? thanks

...

Yeah, that is the combo deal that comes with 17 hmr and 22 lr barrels. Alternatively, you could always buy it separately like this:

http://grabagun.com/cz-455-zkm-ameri...-no-rings.html

And then pick up extra barrels straight from CZ USA as you want them.

The barrel is held in place by two allen screws, I think they are saying that the rifle does not include scope rings.

I would love to have the Ruger 77/22, love the rotary magazine but at $829.00 they can keep it. CZ455 is about half the price. I think that is going to be my next rimfire rifle.
