Hey all. I am looking at getting me a CZ 75B. Seems that I can't find one in my area. Who has best prices online, AND are great to deal with? Thanks in advance.

BTW, yes, I goolged, but I am not sure on customer service. Once again, thanks!

New, but if there is a used one in great condish. Hey. I might be interested.

I was looking at CZ 75s recently, and Jet Guns has the best price I've seen new and they have a good reputation.

I ended up going with a surplus transitional model from Wideners, $330 shipped. It had some holster wear and a few scratches, but overall good condition. The internals were pristene, I doubt the thing had many rounds through it. The transitional model is basically a 75B without the firing pin block.

Gallery of Guns has a few, but the CZs run around MSRP after the transfer fee is added in. Depending on where you live and who your Gallery of Guns gun dealer is, of course.

They are easy to deal with as well as the local shop I pick up a purchase from. It usually only takes 2 to 3 days for a purchase to come in.

Shoot one first.

I saw all the positive reviews and,

I bought one before I tried it and though I felt it was a good gun it wasnt for me

I sold it

Bud's is good but if you use a credit card they will charge you an extra 3%. Cz custom doesn't charge for using a credit card. Mark

Agree, shoot one first. I shot one and was surprised at the trigger compared to a striker fired pistol and how far apart the the safety and slide release where. I have to hold it differently than my other pistols when releasing the slide. I got a good deal on a CZ clone and love shooting it, but try before you buy.

It's good that safety and the slide release are far apart. I shoot thumbs forward and because the slide stop is up away from the safety I don't bump it with my left thumb.

I agree, I use Glocks at work and CZs off work, and the controls are in different spots, much easier for me with the CZ pistols. Customer service from CZ-USA is outstanding, BTW. :)

I've had good luck dealing with Bud's gun shop and Cheaper Than Dirt. I prefer the latter as they don't charge more for credit cards as Bud's does.

There are some models with a bit longer slide releases than the originals.

Here's just one. http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-75-sp-01/

I bought mine from a local shop but wished I had bought it from CZ custom. They were the same price I later found out and I could have had the competition hammer and all the goodies I've put into it shipped at the same time saving on the shipping. Multiple shippings add up quick at $10 for a small envelope of tiny little parts. If you research at http://www.czforumsite.info you will come to the conclusion that at a minimum the comp. hammer and a lighter main spring(I use a 13 lb.) is what you will want. Add the longer firing pin in there for a better insurance of primer ignitions too. With those three alone you make the SA so much nicer/lighter, drop the DA weight too, and of course the firing pin eliminates light strikes due to the lighter main spring. If you are not into tinkering with the gun, they can install all that stuff and much more when you buy it new. If I could do it over I would have had them add all that and maybe a little more(sights, grips, trigger work) before it's sent out. I feel good about purchasing from a local store like I did but CZ custom is a huge positive for the CZ community and any business I can send their way is worth it.

CZ 75B Stainless

Got myself a new 75B polished stainless about 6 months ago for $600.Great looking gun, especially after I added custom wood grips. Only thing I had to do was change the slide spring to a lighter one (cant remember exactly which that was) as the polished slide is harder to get a good grip on when racking the gun.

CZ 75B Stainless

That's a really nice looking pistol

For racking the slide, use your weakhand, on top & against the rear sight.
The recoil spring (14# stock weight) is designed to cycle the pistol for a fairly wide range of loads--not to make racking the slide easier.
