There's been some talk recently about this particular model of CZ that it is not as durable as the standard CZ-75 because it has a bigger hole in its frame for the ambi slide stop. So I have to ask what's your experience with the CZ-85B or combat model regardind its durability and reliability? How many rounds have you fired through it? Would you feel safe to use it as your CCW? Thanks.

I have close to 1500 rounds through my 85b. I have not noticed any defects around the slide stop area. I shoot mostly WWB 115 gr in it. I have put several boxes of SD 124 +p through it also. I would have no worries carrying it. I don't carry it because I can't conceal it, the grip is to big and I am too small. It is in my nightstand with 124 jhp right now, and it goes to the range every time I do.
You can get a lot of good info on the CZ Forum sight.

Uh Oh...If you go to The Firing Line and peruse the almost 500 posts CZ-75 Crackups thread (now, thankfully, closed), you will learn that you are at the threshhold of having your slidestop pin snap.

I think I've got about 2000 rounds thru my CZ-85B

No issues with it

Only thing I've done is replaced the ejector spring with a wolff spring

And also replaced the main spring with a wolff spring as well.

Otherwise - shoots great, and love using the 19rnd sp-01 mags in it!

I have about 2500 rounds thru mine without issue. I have refrained from the usual practice of installing an 'uprated' Wolff recoil spring, since it is unecessary and is (IMO) the most common cause of slide stop breakage in CZs.

I've been on the CZ forum for a number of years. Most people get 8-20 times as much life out of their slide stops. The defunct thread on TFL was a joke. The guy there started a rant against the design, and just had no evidence to prove it. It started against the frame (which would have been more damaging), then migrated to an argument about the slide stops. Some CZ folks got on it, proved his thesis was a joke, but when someone gets diarrhea of the fingers...

IN any case, I'm not into extra mass on the right side of the slide, and there may have been a few more slide stops to go on the 85s than the 75s. Nontheless it is a great and durable pistol.
