Just wanted other CZ owners to know the CZ competition hammer that fits the 75 series fits the 97 as well. Like the 75 series, the difference in trigger function and feel is incredible. This CZ now has a trigger pull that feels like a high end 1911. This is a photo of the competition hammer installed.

I also installed a 13# Wolf mainspring. I'll be a'shootin' this weekend!!

How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking? Not like I need to start another modification project though...

Hi David;

Nice job on the CZ97B. I like the look of the comp. trigger. Do you have a trigger pull scale? If so, what is your SA pull now with the new hammer?

Best regards.

PS - Have fun shooting this weekend. I'll be shooting my CZ75B stainless that I made into a "Retro".

do you have a pic craig?

schmeky - all you guys here are going to make me broke. pretty soon i'll somehow end up owning three of every model pistol CZ made, lol.

there's a cz100 in 40sw that's at the local gun shop for 300. so many CZs, so little time (and money). the grip on it is ridiculously small for a 40. i love the ergonomics, now if only it was a hammer fired weapon. oh, and love the 97. i want three too. :)

squirrels;

Here is a picture of my CZ75B stainless. I put a spur hammer and old style straighter trigger in it. I also rounded the front of the trigger guard. I call it my stainless Retro.

Here is a picture of my CZ pistols. The picture show the stainless 75B in it's original form before I "retroed" it. A second CZ75 pre-B that I bought last week is not in the picture.

Best regards.

I want a comp hammer now... Ghost also has a comp hammer for decocker models as well don't they? I would like to put one on my PCR to get rid of the somewhat gritty/heavy DA pull.

juk,

The hammer is $58.00. The new Wolf mainspring is $4.00. Plus postage.

Craig thanks for the input. I love your stainless retro. My "transitional" looked just like your retro before I replaced the hammer, but mines in carbon steel.

These CZ's are very addictive.

that's cool to know it fits up..
anything particular about the 97..or was it pretty straight forward??

looks great...have fun shooting this weekend..

quick question..does the 97 a single sided safety, or does it have ambi safeties?? thanks

eerw,

The 97 appears to have the same sear block as the 75 series. The 97 is put together exactly the same as the 75. Mine has a single sided safety.

Once you get the inside, the innards are very simple.

You can leave the sear spring out when "fitting". I also leave the firing pin block (FPB) lever and spring in place. Just partially back out the sear pin, which will leave the FPB lever in place. Makes working on the gun a lot easier and quicker.

I am very impressed how robust and hard the internal parts on CZ's are.
