Hey folks,

Curious if the CZ 75 barrel has traditional rifling(1911 style) or if the barrel is polygonal rifled. Considering getting into casting my own bullets. I have multiple 1911's, a G19, and a HK P30. The last two mentioned are poly barrels I run jacketed rounds through. I have been eye balling the CZ75B in .40 and though I could make .45 and .40 bullets if the CZ barrel would work.

Thanks for the input....:)

The ONLY CZ barresl that are polygonal are in the 9x18 barrels for the CZ-82 and CZ-83. (I'm not sure about the .40 CZ-100, which is still floating around, but no longer being made.)

The rest have conventional lands and grooves.

I dry fired a CZ 100 at a gun store many years ago. I kindly gave it back to the salesman, and tried to flush the memory from my mind, and was successful until this very thread.

:barf:

Yeap. Great concept, horrible execution. I am certain that the CZ-100 exhibit in the CZ museum is behind a pillar in a corner...only CZ firearm I would gently refuse to own again.

Other than the 82/83, the only CZ derivative I know of that has polygonal rifling are the Jericho/Baby Eagles.

And if you cast your bullets hard enough, and are vigilant about cleaning them and not running jacketed rounds after a session of bare lead, you typically won't have any problems with poly rifling.

Still the simplest way to avoid problems is to just stick to jacketed bullets, KISS is always a good principle to follow.

The CZ-75 in .40 S&W is conventionally rifled and mine does well with hard cast SWCs. Most accurate pistol in .40 S&W imho. ;)
