CZ claims the barrel length on the CZ P-01 is 100mm/3.9". The CZ P-01 barrel, including the ENTIRE chamber, actually measures only 90mm/3 1/2". CZ claims the barrel length on the new CZ 75 Compact in .40 S$W is 100mm/3.9". The CZ 75 Compact barrel, including the ENTIRE chamber, actually measures only 90mm/3 1/2". If in the manufacturing process CZ cannot accurately measure within 10mm/1/2', it is logical to assume that the guns they manufacture are to dangerous to shoot. If in the manufacturing process CZ can measure within 10mm/1/2", why do they insist on and continue to MISREPRESENT their products to the public.

You are of course right they are entirely too dangerous to shoot. Please send me your P01 and 75B so I may dispose of them properly and you will not be injured.

I will gladly take whatever CZs you have to make sure they don't endanger you....
My PO1 is the easist shooting, most reliable and most accurate handgun I have had, ever.

OAL is correct, height is correct, barrel length is not. They should get that right to be sure. They must be dangerous, the mountains of experience contrary is of no relevence.

Though, Magnumman, perhaps you should explain why your axe must be ground. CZ should post correctly their barrel length and that is certain. I can't understand why 90mm is worse than 98.5mm. However, your vehement posting suggests anger more than is warranted. Did they run over your dog or is it rage against false measurements and nothing more? Can we assume you have also measured other manufacturers, or are going to, so that we can point out their lies as well?

You know, most handgun calibers' muzzle energies are measured from absurdly long barrels. There isn't a Tokarev or CZ-52 barrel that is 11 inches long, yet that is the length used in the test barrels on Winchester commercial ammo. That does not excuse over-representation of energies generated, mind you, but illustrates that it goes on. Did you know that most bottled water comes from ordinary tap water?

That's some great logic. Why not drop CZ a friendly message and ask them what's going on? It might just be an uncaught typo or based on a prototype of the pistol or...whatever. Is the barrel length the only issue you have with CZ? You seem a bit ticked off at them.

Then again, since the P01 is advertised as a "compact" gun, I'd think that advertising the barrel as longer than it really is would turn people off to the P01. So CZ's web of lies would come around to bite them in the ass and cosmic justice is served.

Gotta get me one of those after I get a 97.

Except the new IDPA Rule Book says BUG will NOT be a new division. (We've never had a BUG event at our IDPA club... Five rounds makes it hard to do interesting and challenging scenarios...)

Having an IDPA BUG is sort of like having a pig that whistles: interesting, but primarily good for entertainment value.

Hey Magnumman,

I found this quote by you on a previous thread:

I have a 75b and a P-01. Both are excellent guns. I highly recommend CZs. Unfortunately, Mike is an A** Hole. If you have a real problem, contact their V.P. or Pres. instead of Mike.

Other than the incongruency of the barrel length thing, is there something else that has made you have a change of heart about the CZ's?

Our club DOES have BUG and really I'd just like to shoot the courses more... so If I can shoot my CZ in 3 divisions rather than 2 (even though I have to go 4+1...) It gets me more range time with my CZ...

I just looked at the CZ USA site. Here's what it says...

"Barrel length 99 mm 3.9 in"

Where did you get "100mm/3.9""?

I love splitting hairs. :)

John

P.S. - You said...If in the manufacturing process CZ cannot accurately measure within 10mm/1/2'

What makes you say they can't measure within a HALF A FOOT? Oh, you meant half an inch? Well 10mm is less than half an inch. Half would be 12.7mm.

Make me stop, make me stop. My ocd is kicking in. ;)

P.P.S. - Anyway, the factory is fine, the marketing folks did it. Or maybe the translators had faulty calculators.

This whole thread just made me smile :D :D :D :D see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A misprint/mistake on this, just made me forget my 6-7 year history, 25+ CZ gun, my reason for HBE!! and my love affair with CZ's.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How silly could I have been............................................TRAUMA!

Who wants to buy these pc's of junk??????????????????????????????????????

:neener: :neener: :neener:

Shoot well.

P.S.......Hey, you dont work for SIG do you???????????

Eric, I'll take a few of your surplus junk holsters, provided they are of the correct measurements.

Im sorry to all of you......my CZ's are not shootable. They are out of "Factory specs" and Ive cut them in 1/2 with my torch to save all of you
the grim fate that CZ has bestowed on us all................ :what:

Ok........Im sorry. I cant help it........where did I put my meds??????????????

Shoot well.

PS....Magnumman.....apology needed from me to you. This honestly is just a mistake on the Marketing dept. within CZ and the QC dept. didnt catch it.
CZ guns are great, perfect, killer, equal to Sig at less money (for now anyway) and will continue to progress in popularity and diversity.
Im sorry if Ive taken this thread and ran with it...K? Nothing personal.
Shoot well.

I have 2 CZs and love them. CZ is one of my favorite manufactures of handguns. IMO, CZ is the best value in hand guns. CZ quality is EXCELLENT. I have no axe to grind against the CZ manufacturer or CZ USA, although Mike at CZ USA is an A Hole. I just do not understand why CZ persists, for several years, to misrepresent the barrel length of the P-01 and now is misrepresenting the barrel length of the CZ 75 Compact in .40. A high quality manufacture of handguns like CZ should know how to use a dam ruler. I assume all the engineers on CZ's staff know how to use a ruler. Glock, Sig, FN, Colt, S&W, etc. can measure their barrel lengths to the exact mm, why can't CZ? CZ should stop appearing so incompent and get their sh*t together. That is my point!

Well, as long as you're not angry.
My CZ is a POS, jams all the time, grips cracked on it right after I got it. Of course, it is a CZ52 that's older than I am, and some have hinted that I might be cracked.

Ah, but that CZ-52 was made by Strakonice, not the current CZ-UB (Uhersky Brod). CZ-UB was built before WWII, but pistol production didn't actually begin until the late 1950's, when Strakonice was shut down. The last pistol Strakonice built was the 52, though oddly the first pistol UB produced was the Cz-50 (the later 50's, before they updated them to make the CZ-70). Of course, one could argue that the engineers who worked at Strakonice then were transfered to work at Uhersky Brod. However, the machinery was not.

Magnumman, barrel length on an auto pistol INCLUDES the chamber. And time to check your metric to inch conversion charts, or replace batteries in your calculator. :banghead:
