I pretty much decided to get one of the CZ-75 SP-01's. I always like to go to the dealer and see how it fits my hand before plopping down that much money. However, the dealer didn't have a 75 SP-01, but he did have a 75 B. I liked the grip, the reach to the trigger was a bit long in DA, about right in SA. My question is: Is there a difference in dimensions between the two? Did my feel for the 75 B equate to the 75 SP-01?
I want this mainly for the range. I want a steel gun with a long barrel and a good reputation, so the smaller versions aren't of interest.

I've got the same problem. From what I've READ the SP-01 is supposed to have an easy reach to the trigger for shorter fingers like mine. But the highest volume dealer around here has not been able to keep them in stock, so I'm still waiting to try one on for size. I'll keep trying, though.

The grip on the SP-01 is slightly higher than that on the CZ-75, so the trigger is just a tad bit closer.

the sp-01 grip is slightly different. it's a little easier to reach, and has bigger controls to reach.

the extra heft on the front of the gun from the rail adds to the low recoil of the gun. the slide release is bigger. the trigger itself is different than the part installed on the 75b, and the pull is nicer out of the box. it has the extended magazine release.

and, every one i've seen for sale has night sights.

If the trigger is a little long to reach, swap the standard hard rubber grips for either wood or aluminium. The rubber are very comfortable and hand fitting but surprisingly thick, swapping extends your reach surprisingly.

as the others have mentioned.
the SP01 has an upswept beavertail..this helps your hand get a little deeper into the gun, also the SP01 has a different trigger than the 75B. it has a little more curve and shortens the reach by about 1/8 inch.

also as said..different grips will help out too. the aluminum grips are the thinnest and really help make the gun smaller.

I have small hands, short fingers..so I like the recurve trigger and flat grips..really help me on the DA pull.

here are the setups I have on a 75SA converted to DA/SA, a Kadet , SP01 , 85 Combat and Tactical Sport











The Tactical Sport set up from the factory is almost too big for my thumb to manipulate the safeties. the SA trigger if fine.
by altering the frame, using the thin grips..I can get better reach..next step is having the safety welded up similar to the safety on the Kadet.
