Hey, all - I've got my eye on a nice-looking nickel CZ85 Combat, but wanted to pose this question before I move forward on it:

Is the rear sight dovetail cut for the "Combat" models' adjustable sight the same as on the standard, "non-Combat" CZ 75/85/SP-01? Or, more to the point, can I replace the adjustable "Combat" sights with, say, fixed Meprolights for a CZ-75 or SP-01?

Thanks in advance!

Check out Ghostholster.com. They sell alot of CZ Custom guns, & parts like sights. Good luck.

I "think" the dovetail is the same, but the problem is that the ribs on the slide behind the dovetail are milled off on current COMBAT models so it wouldn't look quite right with the regular CZ fixed sights. I would try out the factory sights first, they still aren't my first choice, but I like them better than I thought I would.

The 85 Combat has had different dovetail sizes at different times. What year is the pistol in question? So long as it is from the late 1990s to present, SDDL-UP is correct. That is, the dovetail itself doesn't cause the fitting issue.

Some of the 85 Lux and 85 Combat models from the 1980s have huge dovetails, particularly the guns reworked by Frankonia (Germany).

FEG, the gun is up for auction @ GunBroker, there's only one left-side pic and frankly the resolution isn't good enough to see either the rear sight or the "Made in Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic" stamp. Naturally, there's no date-stamp info in the description. The gun does have the squared/grooved trigger-guard, and it is pictured in a blue plastic box w/cable-lock, so that implies to me that it is a fairly recent-production gun.

And, no, I'm not gonna post a link to the auction, 'cuz I know somebody else is gonna run the bidding up...if you want it, do your own search. :p
