Just got a CZ75 compact and have realized that no matter how much I love this gun my 1911 has turned my trigger finger into a snob. swapped out some springs and things are getting better, but that caming right at the creepy end is well you know.

13# main, light firing pin, firing pin block, and trigger return springs.

My question is has anyone installed just the CGW race hammer with the stock sear? As I read their explanation my understanding is their adjustable sear corrects the safety function to stock but with the hammer alone the safty can be lifted at any position and could cause damage if done so anywhere but full cock.

What I'm getting at is if the hammer will work alone and will still allow safety to work when at full cock I'm not seeing a problem as I would never engage the safety unless it was at full cock. So is anyone using the race hammer with original sear, and does the safety still function with hammer fully cocked without fitting?

The cgw sear and oem sear share the same geometry according to David, the man behind Cajun.
The Cajun sear does nothing to affect the trigger, any difference is just the higher quality of parts and finish.

What Cajun sear does is remove the time required to fit the safety to the sear, as the sears position will change with the addition of the Cajun hammer.

The matter of fitting depends on the gun and amount of tolerance stacking. It's not hard to fit, but takes time as you need to completely tear down the gun every time.

Most will fit the sear, not the safety, but fitting the safety is faster. But if you make a mistake a new sear is about 9 bucks, a safety lever is 50 bucks and up and those are hard to come by right now.

I put a CZ Custom hammer in a 75 SA. I had to fit the sear so the safety would work . I had to take the gun apart multiple times until it was fitted right. I have also used a CGW adjustable sear. Those are easy. You adjust the allen screw with some locktite on it and your done.
