CZ82

Lots of fans here and justifiably so; they're great pistols being sold for cheap.

I'm another fan. I just picked up my second 82: I'm going to get one refinished and keep the other "authentic." Then I couldn't resist the milsurp CZ-83 that J&G has, so I ordered up one of those too. It's .380 and conventional rifling as opposed to 9x18 Makarov and polygonal, but I just really like the feel and control layout of these pistols.

Great little pistol!... Accurate, extremely well-made, all-metal and can still be had for around $200... As they say, "A no-brainer!!!"

Anyone know where you can get an original, unissued condition CZ-82? I can't seem to find one with a decent original finish.

My favorite bargain gun, bar none. The cz82 was the first real pistol that I ever owned. I parkerized it and shoot it a ton since 9x18 is so cheap compared to the other rounds I run. I've got a decent sized collection now, mostly mil-surps and collectibles, a couple revolvers, a couple automatics. But, the cz82 still rides with me daily as my car console carry gun, just like it has for the last three years. Ergonomics, controls, accuracy, capacity, and affordability are just second to none in the $200-250 range.

I don't know about unissued condition. Every one that I've seen has a bit of holster wear at least. Sometimes you hear about people getting lucky and getting a really nice one, but I think it's "luck of the draw." I paid for hand-pick on both of mine, and one is WAY nicer than the other but still not unissued condition.

Well, a little holster wear is ok, but the ones I always see look like they were used as street hockey pucks.

That sounds odd. Are you seeing this in person? Sure that the dealer didn't just get a bad batch of them? Mine has some edge-wear as expected, but overall was in really nice condition when it came in. Most of the pics I've seen from others online also have been in decent shape. Now, it IS a painted finish which I have to admit I don't prefer, but overall, with that in mind, it ain't bad. IMHO the pistols are well worth the current asking prices. Heck CDNN has them for like $169.

Any unissued CZ-82 would still have that flake-prone paint finish anyway. Personally, I'd rather buy a CZ-82 with fair finish and invest towards a refinish (whether cold blue or Gunkote, Cerakote and the like) than spend the extra money for a pistol with better original paint finish.

I like original, non-refinished guns. I've seen them at gun shows mostly. I would have bought a CZ-82 years ago, but I've never seen a nice looking one in person. So I hesitate to order online sight unseen.

One like in GZOh's picture above would be great!

Yep. You can find them on ebay

You certainly can, but IMHO, the nicest looking grips I've seen for these are at http://www.marschalgrips.com/. I've been debating on getting a set of the Zebrawood grips for mine.

I have a set of Zebrawood grips ordered from Marshalgrips since March. I was told about 2 months wait.

I bought 3 CZ82s, One for me and one for each son. We sent them off to have them hard chromed. Got those back last week, took about 5 weeks. My oldest son found a set of grips that are a carbon/kevlar mix. They look great on the chromed CZ82.

Here is a pic of how they looked before we sent them off to be chromed, a pic of mine with old grips (still wating for Marshal's) and my oldest with his fancy grips. We are going to wait till the youngest son gets a little older for the custom grips on his.

Of all of the guns that have come and gun for me the only sellers remorse one was a pristine CZ 83 in .32. When my granddaughter moved up to 9mm I sold it and and got a 2nd 75B. Now wish I had it back. The 82/83 series where great guns in any of the 3 calibers.

I have two of 'em. They're great little guns, and now that they're under $200, wow. Definitely the most gun for the money right now.
