We did a clean up of the 435th Ave shooting pit in Darrington Washington on August 20th. We picked up a ton of trash out of the lower pit and we cleaned up a illegal dump that was tossed in a little pull off going on in to the dump the back way in off of the Sweede Haven Road.

We did not have the time to get to the upper pit so I am organizing a clean up for the upper pit on September 24th.
I talked with the District Manager yesterday and they will open the gates off of Hwy 530 for the clean up.
They will also close the pits down for shooting for the clean up.
I also got a hold of a representative of the company that owns 259 acres below the shooting pits. There are two junk car the tweekers dumped there down by the stillaquamish River.
We will work on getting the proper paperwork to be able to take these cars to a junk yard.
I can borrow a tandem axle car trailer to haul the cars on.
We will need some one with a backhoe to load the cars on to the trailer.

We will also need four or five guys for the clean up.

The clean up of the lower pit we had six guys and one brought his younger son along.
Thank you all very much.

If you are in the area and can make the clean up or have a piece of equipment to load up the cars please send me a PM.

The one scrap yard I called doesn't pay anything for incomplete cars.
It would be nice if they paid enough to cover the cost of getting them out of the woods.

That would be nice, but out here the junk yards wand all the profits from the scrap so they keep the price low. That's why the woods are full of them.
The company representative where these two cars are told me where there was two more.
But at seven miles a gallon on my 88 Ford 4x4 four wheel drive it will cost around $100 a trip out of my pocket.
I love cleaning up the pits and can only do so much.
I should of been born rich instead of good lookin, but in all actually I got screwed on both ends.
We'll see where it goes.

I will see what I can do to get these cars removed from the environment. Loading these is a little out of my league.
I'll be contacting a few local people and see if they can supply a machine to load these cars up.

Once we get the proper paperwork done I'll work on getting them out of there.

We should have a few people show up for the upper pit clean up on the 24th.
