Just saw it. Pretty cool movie, tons of blood/gore/violence for about 4 movies. The ending was stupid as all hell, and the characters were some of the dumbest idiots in the world. Go figure. But, there was a LOT of gunplay, and I was uber-impressed with the safe gun handling. Fingers were outside trigger gaurds, etc. Here is a list of guns I noticed.

Ving Rhames - Remington 870 w/surefire forearm (bad a__ed!!!!)
The other black guy - stainless steel Beretta 92FS

Security guard - S&W .357 Mag (dunno much about s&w...don't like them..it was a blued 4")
other security guard - Ruger GP100 ... It had the tell tale wood/rubber grips.

Then at Andy's Gun shop they got a couple of mossberg 500 persuaders. One with a pistol grip, another with a side-folding stock. Couple more Berettas and a pair of Glock 21s.

Over all, it wa enjoyable as a stupid zombie movie. TONS of blood and gore, and chainsaws too. That poor girl....I shudder even thinking about being cut practically in half from the shoulder down while alive.

Anyone else notice any guns I missed or perhaps I was wrong about one? How about the ending....I thought it sucked. I'm still trying to figure out how it ends...does it mean the end of the world? The whole world is gone? Dunno.

Loved it. It was the most enjoyable -switch-off-my-mind- and-common-sense-filter movie I've seen in a long time. After seeing (in no order of preference) this month- Secret Garden, Taking Lives and Twisted, movies that tried just too, too hard it was great to sit with a big bucket of popcorn and watch the silliness unfold. I thought the bits with the gun store owner were great, esp. the bit when they're telling him which celebrity look-alikes to snipe from the mass of zombies below "Rosie O'Donnell"- Brilliant ! The ending was kinda depressing, but it's the first time i've seen people who were leaving during the credits stop dead in their tracks. Solid 8 and a bit outa 10

I just read you have to sit through ALL the credits. The last I saw was them landing on the island and the zombies come running out.

BTW, we all sat right down as soon as we saw the naked breasts on the screen!!

When they go into the gun store initially, didn't they show a HK on the floor. I assume it was Andy's pistol. I thought it was a P2000, but it may have been a USPc. Anyone else catch this?

Going to see it Sunday. Probably will start drooling when they go in the gunshop. :D

The gun on the floor is positively a SPRINGFIELD XD.

We've had a running talk about this at XD/HS2000 talk.

Still have to see the movie, looks like good mindless fun.

:fire:

I just got back from seeing this about an hour ago and left as soon as the credits started rolling. Had I known the ending was yet to come, I would have sit through it.

It did prove to be a good "what to do" movie, but a friend and I differed about what they "should have done".
I'm wondering if the folks couldn't simply wait it out in the well-stocked shopping mall. I'm under the impression the zombies were on borrowed time anyway. As their brains still operated at some limited-yet-vital capacity, it stands to reason the rest of their bodies served likewise. However, the body was no longer self-sustaining and decomposition was taking place. As their muscles break down and their brains decompose to the point of failing to function at any level, I suppose these zombies would just collapse and "die"... for good.

I would guess 2 weeks could be a good estimate when the bodies begin to fail, so theoretically, if they were to wait out the initial zombie horde after a month....

I'm not a fan of zombies (or vampires, werewolves, etc... but killer robots are ok :p ), but I did enjoy the suspense of this movie. If one could get past the gore, it's not a bad movie to see.

Three months was the number I heard. With the micture of fresh ombizays added on a daily basis to some degree. Anti's held up in their houses with broadswords and stuff. Theres also something to do with Decomposition slowing down when the body is still moving.

Anywho in case of a REAL ombizay outbreak, I have -no- doubt THR members would band togather and bring our respective firepower to bear. I think that 3-4 well armed members held up in a supermarket or somesuch could survive it no problem.

Hahahaha Kace, no doubt, no doubt...but we would be much better served if the grocery store was attached to a gun shop...gettnig through the wall to the gun store is no big deal, I know how to operate fork lifts. :)

I kept thinking that they should go for the 22LR autoloaders. A bunch of 22 rifles with a couple of shooters and every body else reloading.

why? you must physically incapacitate them. A .22 would do you no good at all, it would not "detach" enouh tissue to render the zombie re-dead. Didn't you see CJ shooting them with a .45? It did no good. They kept coming. It was only after he put a .45 in their head did they go down.

Of course, I'm just going by the movie physics...not that I'm an expert on zombies. LOL.

yeah, but dudes , ZOMBIES, with heads filled with squishy zombie brain stuff. Surely you'd want them to blow apart like over ripe watermelons to be on the safe side. 308s at least, maybe a couple Barretts to be sure....

I think one fo the M2 Halftrack mounted quad .50 cal's would be the perfect anti-zombie setup.

A bunch of Claymores might work too.

Can't we just tether a bull dozer to drive in circles around a compound? How about some farm equipment?

BTW, anyone else notice that with each movie, the zombies get smarter and faster than the original? They run now! :uhoh:

The Zombie Survival Guide recommends a .22 pistol since unless it's a gun powerful enough to physically knock the zombie backward the only other stopping factor is a CNS or specifically a headshot. so forget about the .45 on your hip or that "pussy 9mm" comment in the movie. the only advantage of centerfire is better ignition reliability. fackler, marshall and sanow don't apply when it comes to zombies.

i was always thinking, why doesn't andy make a huge pile of dead zombies in that parking lot, he has enough ammo and i assume he'd have some tactical ruger 10/22. was he afraid of it piling up to the point they could get him on the roof?

The 'zombie survival guide' also identifies the AR-15/M16 as the worste military weapon ever designed in history. Yet, the AK series is identifies as the best battle impliment in history. If your going to use the guide as your bible you have to be willing to accept the whole thing.

I really think one "How should we kill the zombies?" thread spun off from Dawn of the Dead at a time is enough. ;)

Not merging this in, because I let it grow too big before I spotted it (so it would disturb the continuity of the other thread to toss all these posts into it as is), but if you want to repost anything you posted here into that thread, that's fine.
