I too, realized that an AR was missing from my collection post-election, and even though I don't believe it will be anytime soon that Obama will (if he does, anyhow) restate the AWB I began my search.
Prices in stores were skyrocketing as expected, so I decided to check local sites for used firearms. Similarly, people were asking ridiculous amounts for not that much gun.
I decided to check a couple guys in my battalion and see if they had anything of interest lying around that wasn't being used much. One guy I talked to said he had a Colt HBAR awhile back, some of you may have read the post I started about him babying it, but thats besides the point.
He offered it to me for $900. A LIGHTLY used Colt Flattop HBAR, a Winchester hard lock case, 6 30 round GI mags and about 50 rounds of FMJ. What a steal! It was as good as sold. I don't have a camera of my own but here is one from out on the range with my new baby
