Some years ago, I recall seeing a reproduction Dragoon which had a decent rear sight affixed to its barrel. I saw this advertised in a yearly gun catalog and I thought the idea was ingenius given the poor quality sights present on Dragoons. Does anyone have any information on this particular gun? It may have been advertised with a shoulder stock, but I am not certain. Hopefully, one of our contributors owns this model and may provide some information on how it shoots. Thanks.

I think it was a 3rd model Dragoon made by Armi San Marcos. There was one on Auction arms a couple months back. I looked it up then, Maybe Uberti made that variation too.

The Dragoon in question may have been an Uberti given the number of years that have past I saw that advertisement. I wonder how this particular version shoots since its sights seem much better than those on standard Dragoons. Hopefully, one of our members has some experience with this model.

Additionally, I wonder how many members here have fired a Dragoon with a shoulder stock. I have seen some of these versions for sale, but I was too chicken to fire one that close to my face. No doubt, we have some braver souls than myself who may have done so. I would enjoy hearing about your experiences.

The barrel sight on the 3rd Dragoons was a 3 leaf sight. It had a fixed leaf for I believe 50 yards, a folding 100 yard leaf, and another folding 150 yard leaf.

I have one of these. If I could figure out how to post pics, I would send you a copy. The sight is very similar to an express rifle sight that used to be sold by Brownell's several years ago. Since I quit building cartridge guns, I haven't had a new Brownell's in several years, so I don't know if they still make it.
