Del-Ton order

dont think twice...when you get it you will love it. the delay is because of the panic buying going on....seems everybody is out of almost everything.

keep yer chin up, it will be here soon.

on a side note, anyone got any other suggestions on the FTF thing?
 
I have been eyeing a midlength kit. To all you guys that own one what do they weigh and how is their balance. I was just curious. I am going to be buying a kit from them in a month or two and am trying to decide between a midlength or a lightweight. I use to own a bushmaster a2 and it was heavy. I am wanting something a little easier to carry.

mine has the double heat-shields and 'heavy duty' barrel. The front of the gun definitely has some off-balance weight to it, but once you shoulder it, you don't even notice it. Or, at least I don't. Maybe it's because I'm young and in decent shape, not picky, and havent had a broad experience with guns other than what I own, but a 6-9 pound rifle never really gave me any issues.

and mine doesnt seem to like green followers either, even though I still use the crap out of them in my GI mags. Especially when they're loaded with wolf. However, mine did hiccup a bit before I 'broke it in'. Now, brass runs great (but I havent shot alot of brass yet), and Wolf seems to be the only thing causing the minimal problems.

I ordered two PMAGS from Del-Ton on the 6th. My order page says "This order has already shipped or has reached the final stages of processing" but I have no notice from them that my order has shipped so I'm assuming my mags are back ordered. I tried calling on Thursday, but couldn't get through. Sent an email and received an automated response that they'd respond within the next two weeks! I couldn't believe it. I'm not in a great hurry but it sure would be nice to know the TRUE status of my order. Makes me think twice about doing business with them in the future.

That means they haven't shipped yet- I ordered a rifle kit on the 31st and I got an email notification the day it shipped.

My (unsolicited) advice is to be lenient with them- like the rest of the industry, they're getting killed with orders right now. I spoke with a lady on the phone before ordering my kit to find out the lead time, and she was very helpful, but also mentioned that they were doing a LOT of business... and that was before the election!

Now that that's out of the way, I'm going to join the folks showing off their builds. This is my first EBR; DTI 16" A3 w/ detachable carry handle on a Spike's lower.

that would be Laura i believe ( i hope i remembered her name). shes awesome. been more than helpful with my build and my friends. sent out a spare firing pin when we suspected his was too blunt.
 
FWIW, when I ordered my middy kit, I also ordered some spares & replacments. There were a couple of small parts that were not currently in stock. The bulk of the order was billed & shipped as one lot. The missing items didn't ship for a couple of weeks & weren't billed for until their ship date (there was no additional charge 2nd shipping).

If you guys who ordered on the 31st have had yours shipped hopefully mine won't be long now.. ordered before the election. I'll just wait as patiently as possible for my lightweight A3 kit. DelTon has always done right by me.
 
Personally, I'd like to see the lightweight kit in mid length. I'd grab one of those and sell my HBAR in a heartbeat.

Mine is on a DPMS lower and has no problems with USGI, C-Product and PMAG 20's or PMAG and Bushmaster 30's.
 
Just called, they are out of Lowers and don't expect more for 10 weeks.

Was hoping to get one just to hang on to. If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know!
 
Well, they must be either a leader in the kit gun industry, or very inefficient. Last spring I called them when I was building my first kit and the wait time was 2 months. I wouldn't be surprised if they stretched kits out 4-5 months now. I ordered an Ace skeleton stock, an ARMS flip up rear sight and and Ergo grip and it took almost 2 weeks to ship out.
 
There's some NICE pics being posted, and a lot of good reviews of Del ton. It really helps me relaxLOL Aside from my truck, I think this is the most money I've ever spent at one timeLOL Yep, I can be pretty cheap...
So thank you guys, I never realized there were so many people ordering from Del ton on the High Road LOL

I almost went with their lightweight, but it took me a little looking to realize it wasnt a mid length. I kinda hope they DON'T come out with a lightweight mid length. That'll just be too tempting.. LOL

everyone is inefficient right now. Some places are asking that you don't even bother asking about your order for at least a month after placing it at this time. AR's are the gun collectors' pokemon cards right now.

When I picked up my lower at a local gunshop, the owner was saying it was one of the last he had in stock. And he had just received it THAT day. He had already called and tried to get more ordered but was told "Don't ask for awhile" they werent expecting to be able to keep them in stock for awhile. And this was BEFORE the election. AFter I paid for mine and was browsing around I heard three people come in and ask about lowers/complete rifles in the space if an hour. It seems the whole industry is getting pretty hammered. Wich is good in a way, I figure. The more thats bought, the harder it's going to be to ban them... (At least, I HOPE it works that way...)

I must have ordered at the right time. Mine shipped in 3 days from ordering. They turned it around the same day with the one maintenance issue I had. Of course, this was earlier this summer.

i had mine in my hands in 10 days. shipped in probibly 5 days
 
I ordered my Middy kit back in April and it took three weeks to get it. It was the longest three weeks in my life but it was worth it.
 
Ok, thought I'd update everyone on how things are going...
It's been a long wait (damn obamamania) but it's finally shipped outLOL SHould arrive here this Wensday. I've got the UPS tracking page open and tracking it as it travels cross country. Ok, so can you tell I'm a little eager? Heh.
Did have one issue come up with the chromed bolt carrier I ordered for it. They were out of stock, and weren't sure when they would get more in. It seems they get them from DPMS, and DPMS is keeping all they had for their own rifles. I changed it to a standard bolt and carrier. I figure if i eventually want chrome I can always spend a little extra and get one of the "super heavy duty, made for combat" type ones LOL
So now the wait is on!

Congratulations! Glad to hear someone is getting something out of Del-Ton. Been waiting on Pmags going on 16 weeks! Funny that Del-Ton is out of them but I've managed to find several other dealers offering a good price albeit a few bucks higher than Del-Ton. Considering the time value of money, I might just as soon bought them at $40 and been done with it as wait 16,17,18 weeks. At this point I don't even need the mags any more, just leaving the order open to see how long it actually takes them to deliver.

Waiting on a Lightweight 16" CAR and an M4 kit. LW should ship around the end of March (ordered 11-23) and the M4 around July (ordered 12-31).

On the flat top rifle, it looks like the rail is all one piece extending, unbroken, out onto the railed handguard. How did you manage that? Or, am I just seeing it wrong?

I ordered mine 11-14 and it shipped out thursday morning. Shouldnt yours be shipping sooner than March?

Doug, nevermind I figured it out. 5 minutes on the Midway sight and I answered my own questionLOL What do you think of the CASV-EL?
