Del-Ton order

Vltor floating handguard that attached at the delta ring and is held on by the upper pic rail that it is clampped to (as you said and noted, you can see the attaching clamping screws).

I REALLY like the CASV-EL. These 3 rifles actually belong to my Soldier Son, and the deployment dollars were real good, thus the ACOG's (the TA01NSN he has kept, I have bought the TA31F). The CASV makes for a bit of difficulty with a BUIS because it raises the scope rail up about 1/2". Thus, the TA01NSN with built in BUIS. I don't use a BUIS on my rifle, as it is set up for 3 Gun matches.

Lately, we have mainly used Yankee Hill. I think the free floating guards allow for better accuracy than the conventional guards, and the Vltor is big time pricey. I have 2 Stag rifles built from Del Ton components. Bought extra lowers, so we can finish out 4 more rifles if the need arises. They will all be built on Del Ton kits in the future.

On my kit, I am guessing that with the move this week to the new facility, production will be slow restarting, so I am guessing for some extra time. Got a few extra rifles around here though!

DougW, very kool, thank you for the info! I actually ordered mine with the Yankee Hill Light Weight Free floats... Oh, and it came in today! Heh, I'm almost giddy. I'm gonna go assemble everything now...
Hmm, I wonder if mine was one of the last assembled in their old place?

Cool! I was checking on my order at the Del Ton site, and now I have to click the "past 6 months" to see the order. It has been over 3 months now. Maybe by the end of March, with the move.

Now Im sad...I placed my Delton order 12.29 for the M4 upper kit. Im sure im looking at April at this point. Doesn't help they moved this week

Hi DB46,

You may be looking at June or July. I was told today that Del-Ton has seen 229% increase in sales sine December. They are going to do their best, but they seem to be committed to keeping the quality up.

Del-Ton is really one of the best companies to deal with. It will be worth the wait.

"Mil-spec" is a very misleading term. something that isnt milspec can be top notch Grade A quality. and something that is milspec could suck badly. and in many cases TRUE mil spec can come down to ridiculous details that have no effect on the rifle.

if your wondering if Delton rifles will accept standard military parts w/o trouble? yes, they absolutely will.

Agree 587383.03999% That happens to be a milspec number.

I talked to them again last week...Still filling orders from November...

Well, 2 months later and I finally get around too itLOL Sorry guys, a case of food poisioning and several other things came up... You know how it goes!
Ok the assembly went fine. It took me about an hour, maybe a little more. I went very slow and carefull, taking my time and stopping a lot and just generally making sure I was doing it right. I still managed to launch one detent, though. Luckily I have good hearing and hear it "plink" onto something metal under my coffee table. The lesson, detents NEVER go where you expect them to. They seem to have the ballistic's of a rubber ball, NOT a small spring fired bulletLOL
The Del Ton kit is really nice. All the parts fit together well in the DPMS lower receiver and everything about the upper seems to be good quality. It matches the DPMS lower receiver very well. I've got around 200 rounds thru it so far with only one problem, more on that below.
After assembling and function checking it, I had to work the next day, but packed the new rifle, some ammo and 3 mags into a gun case for a quick trip after work to run some ammo thru it and make sure everything worked well. I got flawless function witht the two p mags, everything fed fired and ejected just fine, and the rifle seems to work as it should. It, however, does not seem to like the Brownells USGI mags. From a loaded Mag, the third round would fail to chamber completely and the bolt would dent the round. It only happened twice (both times with the Brownells mag) and I havent tested further, don't have enough ammo to mangle rounds trying to make it like a certain magazine. I like the P mags much better anywayLOL
SO fast forward 2 days and it's my day off and after much :barf: I'm out testing for accuracy. I've posted a pic below. I was shooting the mags only loaded to 10, 3 different types of ammo, she ate up and spat out every type of ammo flawlessly! If you cant tell I REALLY like shooting this rifleLOL
You might notice from the pic, I said I was shooting 3 different types of ammo, each time the mag was loaded to 10. There should be 30 holes in that target, right? I've only able to count 27. Anyone want to hazard a guess what happened to the other 3? I was shooting from a rest off the back of my truck about 30 feet from the target (as you can see from the pic). Each shot was aimed and I was taking my time. So, either I managed to completely miss the target, or....? Could this gun be THAT accurate, even my second time out?

I got an e-mail from them today. My m4 kit is going to production Monday, and should ship by the end of the week. Ordered Nov 23, 5 months and one day later to production. My opinion is that lead times will be getting longer and longer, unless a lot of people start cancelling orders.

I spoke to a gentleman at Del-Ton today. He was very nice. I placed an order for a lower parts kit and buttstock in early February.

He said they were still filling orders placed in December. Lower parts kits are still hard to get, apparently.

I guess we're all going to have to be very patient.

maxxwild, I guess it's kinda like giving birth. After the "baby" gets here, you forget about the "pain"!
