Vltor floating handguard that attached at the delta ring and is held on by the upper pic rail that it is clampped to (as you said and noted, you can see the attaching clamping screws).
I REALLY like the CASV-EL. These 3 rifles actually belong to my Soldier Son, and the deployment dollars were real good, thus the ACOG's (the TA01NSN he has kept, I have bought the TA31F). The CASV makes for a bit of difficulty with a BUIS because it raises the scope rail up about 1/2". Thus, the TA01NSN with built in BUIS. I don't use a BUIS on my rifle, as it is set up for 3 Gun matches.
Lately, we have mainly used Yankee Hill. I think the free floating guards allow for better accuracy than the conventional guards, and the Vltor is big time pricey. I have 2 Stag rifles built from Del Ton components. Bought extra lowers, so we can finish out 4 more rifles if the need arises. They will all be built on Del Ton kits in the future.
On my kit, I am guessing that with the move this week to the new facility, production will be slow restarting, so I am guessing for some extra time. Got a few extra rifles around here though!
