I know there are a few liberals and Democrats on this board who respect the 2A and gun rights, so dont take this as me flaming you. But some of the un-educated du-ers are up to their old misconceptions again. This fella wrote something about the constitution, a conversation started in class and he states that he is scared of his gun owning classmates. Like theres going to be another columbine from these kids  I just think its amusing reading this. Hope it interests someone besides myself. Although its not nearly as funny as the guy who was scared of the "automatic revolver." :D

I reside in one of th ebluest of the blue, amd I work in an area once considered the "cradle of the revolution". My job is as a shift supervisor for security at a community college. Sadle, these attitudes, platitudes and generalized malfunctions are heavily evidenced here. All of the "beautiful people" types took over, bred and dropped their iidiot spawn here to stew in their own juices. Now in our days growing up there were people who chose not to behave. WE called that"bad behavior". Now its called "personality disorder",and is given "disability accomodation by the school administration.BTW,many aprents and children of this type not only are stupid, but have evolved (or devolved)into foaming-at-the-mouth wack job status....who drive Volvos.
i actually had a student express reservations at one of my patrol officers'personal car;it had an nRA window sticker in the left rear window. He wanted the car searched.I suppressed th eold NCO's urge to give him some "sustained counseling",and insteadpolitely listened to him, explained to him that such a syicker was no more evidence of a "campus weapons policy violation" than the "war is not the answere" sticker on HIS car being de facto evidence of treason.Throughit all I kept my demeanor polite ;yet I could see his eyes misting over...he could not see the double standard he was demanding, nor the irony of the situation. He than demanded a contact with MY boss;I gave him the account manager's business card and told him how to spell my name.
Now I was NOT a nice kid;I was a little sreet fighting machine back in the day. Many my father's age were certain I 'd end in prison ,or an early grave.Yet ;her ,I can see these folks being literally destroyed by having NO critical thinking or analytical ability...or maybe I just wanted to hook him in the ear because I could not stand the slack jawed, vacant look, accesorized with droopy pants belted below the waist,a backwards baseball cap ,and an eyebrow ring....Jeez,I've turned into my Dad :neener: :D

One time in class (mind you this was a class on the Mahabharata, a 1500 or so year old Sanskrit religious epic..not exactly modern politics) my prof, who I was very close with as a friend, said something along the line of, "well, this story (of Drona and Arjuna) deals with weapons and the responsiblity of mastering them, and it is like someone who has no idea what to do with an AK-47 owning one - no one has any buisness to own one" (something along those lines).

So I said (this was a very small class of 9-10 people and we all knew one another), "well, I own an AK-47, and I know how to use it".

He was stunned and rambled off some sort of wierd response, but after that day he never treated me quite the same.

Amazing what a few decades or the right guy can do....

One of my friends at College was a Philosophy Professor (and Department Chairman for a while).

I bought a .45 for him....

("Colt Argentine" - one of the ones that were 100% clones, or possibly actually made by Colt for the Argentine Military.)

Wish I had the $75 (told you it was a long time ago) 'cause I should have bought one for myself.

The barrel, btw, was trashed - corrosive primers and not enough cleaning. Matching serial numbers between the frame, barrel, and magazine.

Not that we didn't have any flaming liberals there, but they were few compared to the rest of the place. Lots of working LEO's on campus at the time, too, including my rent-a-cop self.

(Kinda funny - holler "anybody got a gun?" then and you'd get a couple responses. Do it today and it's a Felony.... Sheesh....)

Regards,
