Besides...the Fuffmiester only offered you $25 (you pay shipping!)

That's not so... !!

He was supposed to pay me to take the gun!!

It's not my fault that he wised up. DANG IT! Things aren't like they used to be... :D

Since Hawk is so descouraged over Colt revolvers I will make him my unusually gennerous offer of $25.00 plus shipping costs, so that he won't have to put up with it.

So he had to pay YOU the $25?

Geez Fuff,

You are worse than a Clinton buy-back program!

And to think Hawk was bitching about my $40 (to him) + shipping

:neener:

Short frame Cobras pre barrel shroud are my favorite carry gun. My guns have all the "character" a carry gun eventually exhibit. The grips on the guns are off later Agent models (my personal favorite). Finding grips for a long frame RB is a PIA. I also have several short grips for these guns making them a pocket pistol.

Old Colt D frames ( Detective Special, Cobra, or Agent) usually command
premium prices these days~! :uhoh: Here in central Alabama, its not
uncommon to see them priced from $499; to $650 for these Colts.
I own a few myself, and would NEVER think of gett'in shed of 'em~! ;)

This weekend I found a guy at the gunshow with 2 DS, older "pencil barrel" in the $300 range. Several Smith snubs at 300-325 too.

I was sadly cashless.

If anyone is in Austin next month I will point you to him (19 & 20th)

Got one

I had originally passed on the two described in my original post since I thought they were over priced. I went back to the store this week and the late model one was long gone, but the older one was still there. I checked it out and it passed all of the tests with flying colors. It actually looks quite good except where the bluing is rubbed off on one side of the cylinder. The checkering on the grips is a bit worn as well, but I believe it is all holster wear and not much from shooting. Probably someone's back up.

I picked it up for $375 OTD. Sweetest trigger I've ever felt this side of a worked over 1911. Turns out she's not much older than the other one, checking out at 1971 on the proofhouse site. Can't wait to try her out. I feel a bad addiction coming on.
