I have a problem... I really wanted an XD 9mm, and I'm going to get "A" gun next weekend, BUT, my limit is between $400 and $500 without wanting to go much over 500 unless I just HAVE to. I do like some of the Sigs, I don't mind buying used because after my firt purchase i'm gonna start actually Saving to buy my next gun which I really want to be a XD .45, its not that I'm "Settling" its just that the XD 9 was at the top of my list, and I can't seem to find one in my price range used or otherwise so I'm opting to go with one of my other favorites, being SIG and possibly a Polymer framed S&W. I was just wondering if you guys have any suggestions as to some guns that are pretty much the same deign as the XD (polymer and such). My main Concern other than actual quality is ergonomics, because I'm the kind of person that if I don't like the way a gun feels in my hand then I'm not gonna enjoy shooting it, and basically consider it trash... so if yall have any suggestions that i might would be interested in checking out please let me know...mainly people that Have XD's but also have other guns that they favor just as well... Thanks for the Help :)

I bought my Glock 17 brand new in the box with two 17 round mags for $520+ tax. Might be stretching your budget just a bit but hey, a Glock's a Glock. The best gun purchase I've made yet.

Just my 2 cents.

Look around for a better price on the XD. My local FFL sells them for less than $500 every day.

I'm also in the market for an XD in the near future, so I have been looking at various places for selection and price, in my experience I rarely see an XD that's over $500, usually those are ones with tritium night sights.

If you are normally seeing prices over $500 you probably need to shop around more.

I passed up a 5" .45 XD for $480 the weekend before last at my local shop.

I want one, just wasn't what I was looking for at the time. While I was there a SWAT guy with a HK USP .45 f in a low ride leg holster strolled in and bought it. :)

Check out a local FFL holder and order it. It'll take a day or two, but I'll bet you'll save $100 or so.

Go here: http://www.gunbroker.com/User/DealerNetwork.asp and punch in your Zip Code to find a local FFL holder.

I like my XD45,but I also like the ergonomics of my Taurus 24/7 in 45,give one a fondle, they fit the hand well...

It's not polymer, but you owe it to yourself to pick up a CZ75 before you pluck your money down on a Springfield, if how a gun fits in your hand is important to you.

I see the 4" service model XDs on a regular basis for $470 usually, theres now a "package" deal for $460 at my local shop (XD9, holster, magazines, case).

Keep looking if the XD is what you really want. This is SOCAL prices too, which are usually higher than anywhere else in the country.

Unless something drastic with pricing has happened in the past month the law enforcement supply store I frequent in Raleigh, NC has the 9mm service models for ~ $400 with 3 magazines and a holster. The Tactical model is only about $30 more. I can't recall seeing the service model for more than $450 at any dealer here in NC, but I could be wrong.

Good job on holding out for what you really wanted. I just saw a guy get a smokin deal on a used XD .40 4" from a local shop about an hour ago.

Looked great from the outside. 3 mags and a nice leather holster with the gun for $325 :what: The holster alone looked to be worth about $50.
