Do you still have your first gun?

Sadly I do not. Mine was a single shot 20 gauge, not even sure what make, but Sears or Montgomery Wards comes to mind. Got it when I was 12. So a few years down the road I sell it at a pawn shop for beer or gas money, something stupid no doubt. This gun was no real prize to anybody but me. Man do I ever regret selling that gun. A lot of memories.

No, nor do I have many others I used to own. Bought my first one, a .22 Ruger Standard model, in 1971. The one I've had the longest and still own is a custom-built bullseye 1911 I bought in 1985.

I do not have mine either. Smith and Wesson military and police pre model 10 in .38 spl. With that gun, no squirrel was safe

my Marlin Model 780, i got when i was 14 or so (im 42 now), still love it and shoot better with it than my henry rimfire... wouldnt part with it for nothing, took me alot of saving and chores to get that rifle, nothing fancy but so worth it

My stepdad convinced my gun-shy mother to let him sell me a Winchester Model 190 rifle in late 1985. He died the following year, and his son, whom I had never met prior, came around asking about the gun. He offered to buy it off me, and I let him take it.

So, no, I do not have my fist gun. But, I quickly replaced that gun with a Ruger 10/22, and I do still have that one.

In 1987, I bought my first handgun, a Taurus Model 66 revolver. I still have that one as well.

I have my first high power Pellet gun that was a gift from my dad.
I have the first two guns I ever used (H&R 410 and H&R 20ga) which were my dad's.
And then I have first gun that was actually "mine" a old Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 20ga that my dad gave me right before he got sick due to his time in the Navy.
I would never sell that Ithaca, it means more to me then its weight in gold (which is approximately $130K if anyone's wondering lol).

I'm seeing a pattern with the H&R single shots... LOL.

Sure do! A JC Higgins 22 S/L/LR bolt action. But the tube magazine got dented and wouldn’t feed so I took it off to use as a single shot… bad idea. But yes, I still have it even though it hasn’t been fired in probably 50 years.

Yes. My first long gun was given to me by my father when I was 11, it is a Savage 24J over/under - .22lr on top, .410 shotgun on the bottom. I also still have my first handgun, which he gave me when I was 16, it is an H&R 686 Convertible .22lr/.22mag.

I have an old mossberg 46 that had this problem. You can take a piece of aluminum or brass dowel and, using a small mallet, lightly tap it down the tube to remove the dent. I had the advantage of working at a machine shop back then and had stock in about any diameter you could think of. You may want to measure the INSIDE of the tube and order some dowel stock that is .001 to .005 smaller. You want enough wiggle room for the rod to pass through the tube but tight enough to push the majority of the dent out.
