Does a Decent Live Firearm Chat Room Exist Anymore ?

facebook has lots of gun and reloading forums that are live chat. one group alone has 15 thousand members in less than 2 years about reloading. Some allow buy and sell,some are strictly buy and sell.the Reloading Room is the big one,and it's sister page is for selling...TRR - BUY AND SELL.

they all have admins and are kept civil and as clean as possible of crap

I do too, and don't... The roundtable seemed to be split between civil threads and ones that went downhill quickly. Sometimes animosity and topics from a downhill thread would spill into other sections.

Anyway, I like bulletin boards. I dont think I was registered at TFL, but came across it in google search several times. With a chatroom, the information comes and goes, you cant find it in a search, and you have to weed through the "lol" posts to find anything worth reading.

With vBulletin getting so popular so that the boards were all the same (or similar) format, I quit going to chatrooms years ago. I thought they hade gone the way of the dodo because a 29 year old coworker didnt know what a chatroom was, and barely remembers AOL. I remember, and I'll be 33 soon. What a difference three to four years can make...

Zach it also depends on what you pay attention to. a lot of the so called superstars
in media could walk up and stand be side me and I would be no wiser.

Not to be rude, but I'd put the odds somewhere between "not a chance in hades," and satan skating to work.



The idea here being an online gun information resource, not so much a social club or hangout. Hence, no off-topic or "general interest" section.

And besides, to maintain the high standards and focus we require would necessitate full-time, round-the-clock monitoring and effort on a level that is at least an order of magnitude beyond what a handful of volunteer staffers could manage. (...or could stomach!)

As far as phones I don't know. Go figure with the txt craze. That's all a chat room is. Real time interactive group txtng. For chat that's gonna be mixed with guns buying selling show and tell and general cutting up and picking go to cast boolits. It needs to be web/safari version I believe. I use it from desk top.
