Does anyone else wish they would make a C&B revolver that uses 209 caps?

Really ?? So much for cylinder gap.
I've yet to find a BP revolver that doesn't let the cylinder float forward from the hand spring so it's resting against the forcing cone. The bolt may or may not hold it back at full cock but it's a sure thing that when the hammer falls that it'll push it ahead initially and then the bullet coming out pushes it back again. And that couple of thou would be enough to set the primer back into position well enough to avoid a lockup.

A 209 primer is too powerful for a cap and ball application. It would blow most of the load out of the chamber before ignition at levels comparable to no. 10-11 caps resulting in poor ignition, excessive fouling, and other issues. This has been studied. The Google will reveal the folly of such thoughts.

Well, for those of you with a decent memory, there was/is a member of the forum who made conversion "nipples" that accepted small pistol or rifle primers. I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of one of these sets.
I use it to fire Blackhorn 209 powder in my ROA and it works well. I have never tried it with smokeless powder and don't intend to. The only drawback to this is the time it takes to reload after the initial 6 shots have been fired.

Doesn't look like my email got through to them.
Loosing interest, get the feeling 6 nips could easily cost $100.

I'd like a set of slix-shot nipples but just can't justify the price of them/

I've fitted three of my C&B revolvers with them now and even at the $60 Canadian it cost per gun it is well worth it. No more pinching or ramming the darn caps home. The Slix shot nipples take both CCI and Remington #10's with no issue and only a lightly firm push from a seating stick to work super reliably. So I'd suggest you keep trying and find a place that has them for a price you can live with.
